It's funny how liberal people often think that Supreme Court justices should be held to the same standards as the politicians. If you guys had an understanding at all of the position then you would know that the last thing we need is some liberal tool on the Supreme Court pulling shit out of his ass (as opposed to the Constitution or precedents) for decisions. Conservativism defines the Supreme Court and the enforcement of our government. The Supreme Court is not there so that people can have a different way of getting laws made so they can have kill babies, dictate marital behaviour to the entire population, or anything of the like. These are what most people think is their job since it's by far the most publicized. And that is because most of their job is not very interesting, controversial, or immediately and directly affecting our lives.
I'm just as liberal as anyone posting here I'm sure but I'm at least smart enough to have an understanding of US federal government.Comment

Are you forgetting that it's not liberals who create ridiculous talking points about the judicial branch of the gov't? Did you forget all the bullshit over the summer about judicial activism...activist judges...litmus test for judges...unaccountable judiciary...these are all Republican talking points created to confuse the general public about the role of the judicial branch, and to create support for changes to the gov't structure---at the very least it's so they can get more conservative judges on the supreme court with as little obstruction as possible.
If you really are a liberal, as you claim, I would have thought you would realize that. But I think you're full of shit about that, because you seem to imply that the supreme court has no business making decisions about a women's right to choose and equal protection for gays.
