Are you seriously that much of a nit picker? Of course that wasn't a direct quote, but the bible does consistently preach the spreading of the word and ministering to other people.

So you're telling me that the bible DOESN'T tell people to spread the word and minister to others?

Lol, get your facts straight...what a joke.

I never said you had to minister to be a Christian, just a good one.

A Christian is someone who accepts Christ as their savior. A good Christian is someone who tries to live their life modeled after Jesus. There's an obvious difference. If you're going to argue about petty semantics, at least be consistent and quote me correctly in your reply.

JT, he's as likely as not going to semantics you for post after post simply because of your name. You're not seriously going to try to argue with logic and facts behind you against a dude with a bible quote in his sig are you?

How can mere facts stack up against what a person wants to blindly believe?

Fuck em, not worth your time. It's like some person here on the forum that posts a bazillion conspiracy threads. He blindly wants to believe this shit, spout it off at every opportunity, and nothing, no fact you can show, no logic you can demonstrate can turn that around.

This is a matter of whether or not ID should be taught as an accepted scientific theory. Which it honestly is not.

sorry, but what's "the Right"?
The politicial right, the conservatives.
Apparently, there is some dispute as to whether or not the attack took place.
I'd be quite suspicious of this, if only because the first I heard of it was from an ultra-conservative site that was positively spitting the words "HE FAKED IT".

Damn, whats that Bill Hicks quote...
I made those comments in Douglas County, Kansas, and these three rednecks met me after the show.

"Hey, buddy! C'mere! Mr. Yoonee-Perfesser, c'mere! Hey, buddy, we're Christians, and we don't like what you said."

"So then forgive me."
Because the bible says you have to spread the word and convert people in order to be a good christian. But yea, I totally agree. This is the reason why Christianity is the biggest threat to America right now. American Taliban.
You "believe" that's what Christianity is all about, fine. American Taliban? You have no idea what you're talking about kid. Stop getting all excited about small issues. Go attend to more urgent issues, like kite flying.

Christians should spread their faith to people that want it. I know that I don't want to be forced to learn it in school.

The state Board of Education recently adopted new science standards that treat evolution as a flawed theory, defying the view of national science groups. Intelligent design says the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power.

The theory stops dead with me when it hits this point.

"The Universe Is so Complex that it must have been created by a higher power."

In my views this so called higher power must then also be more complex than the Universe. So in turn another higher power must have created him. Thus making an infinite number of gods, and making it pretty much obsolete for me.

Personally I find it easier to believe in the existence of an unexplained, complex but describable using physics universe, than to believe in an unexplained, omnipotent, omniscient deity where 80000 religions all disagree about his nature, attitudes, beliefs, commandments, etc., with frequent internal contradictions.

this is one off their reasons for teaching intelligent design ??? How the hell can you have intelligent design without religious bias or assumption. What i get out of intelligent design is wow organisms are so comlex that evolution couldn't have prodced them , god did it.

To me that is a huge "religious bias or assumption"

And what the hell is a naturalistic bias or assumption?? Are we not allowed to teach kids about how from fossil records we see that life started as simple organisms that increased with complexity with time? Its like we are brian washing them with completely unfounded ideas !!!!
