It was taught, briefly, and called "The American Revolution".
We were pricks back then, we know we were, and that's the way it comes across when it's taught in our schools.
Thus ends my contribution to this thread, which is probably going to collapse into an America hates Britain and vice versa flame fest.STARKITTY

We had it at our 'high-school', but that was because I had history as a subject. America had quite a big part in our history. It's expected that we know enough about our own country by the time we go to high-school.
The mayority of history was about the world wars, the industrial revolution world-wide and America. Ofcourse the Netherlands had some history there too, and we still live with the shameYou ate some priest porridge

As for 1812 and the Burning of the White House, this was during President Madisons' term. Some here in the States may know his wife as the one time popular Ice Cream label/producer Dolly Madison Ice Cream. They moved to Philadelphia temporaily after the White House was burned.
Philadelphia was actually the capital of the US before New York City (New Amsetrdam) and Washington D.C., Unfortunately the house in which Washington served as President no longer exists, as they tore it down yrs ago for a Woolworths Dept. Store....lol...typical Philadelphia crap.May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

However, likely you are right 404.People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."
