One off my cousins (think his name is tony Collins?)
got sent off playing for Fermanagh GAA team. It was on the T.V.
Some guy was grappling him back and had his hand in his face and put it in his mouth so he bit it and the referee sent him off. They showed it a few times becuase it was funny and a really harsh sending off and the commentators were calling the ref crazy as he should of booked the other guy and not sent off the guy getting fouled and he was booking players all around him for very little.
They did so without centre back Tony Collins (controversially lined for an off the ball incident with Donegal’s John Gildea) three minutes before half time and their brilliant centre forward Rory Gallagher, who limped off injured seven minutes into the second half...
referee Joyce sent off Collins for a second yellow card.
Ironically, subsequent video evidence showed the offence to be pretty innocuous. Des Joyce dished out an incredible total of 16 yellow cards
oo that was 5 years ago, lol time is starting to fly by

not calling you a liar but i don't know much about the GAA as i'm not really into it and prefer soccer so i checked the GAA web site to find out who your man was and i couldn't find him http://www.gaa.ie/page/the_birth_of_...leas_gael.html
maybe you got his name wrong, or he was involved in getting his counties club up and running?
EDIT; p.s. i didn't read the whole article just the first paragraph or so then i got bored so i searched the text using ctrl f
