I know a man, a good one at that. His Mother was considering abortion, luckily she didn't. Now he has children of his own.

obviously Catholics are Christian (and for some the two are interchangeable). and the characteristics that make up the religion aren't the same as those that govern the person. you defined Catholicism, not a person who calls him/herself Catholic. and i'd be scared to find two people who hold exactly the same beliefs and/or morals.

Exactly they are not ready for such responsability. But sex is going to happen, and accidental pregnancy will also happen, but to condemn a young child to be forced to take care of this baby, and put them into some state of welfare. It's detrimental and abortion is a firm option.

Ryder, your ignorance amazes me. Threatening to rape a 16 year old girl because she thinks that abortion is murder? Even if I was raped, I would never even consider getting an abortion. I know I would never be able to stay in school as a mother, so yes, the baby would go up for adoption. There are so many couples out there that want a baby but are unable to have one for themselves. There aren't many babies sitting in adoption agencies - babies have the best chance of being adopted.

Basically my whole spiel is that you're despicable, abortion is wrong, and adoption is a great option.

and then what would you do after? you have no education, you just had a baby you gave up for adpotion, where you gonna work? how you gonna support yourself? you missed out on your edcation to being a baby into this world that was forced apon you.

what about all the women out there capable of being doctors, lawyers, fortune 500 company CEOS, they should give that up to have a baby and spend the rest of their life in dairy queen? just beacuse they were raped, contraceptive broke or they were just to damn wasted to act? or perhaps just uneducated to the risks?

Personally i know the life i can provide for my children after my degree, is most likely gonna be a lot better than the life i can provide for a child now. you can say "what if what if" all you want, but dont you fear that if you ban abortion, you would drown your economy in single parent familes, have a lesser skilled workforce because all the really good people made a mistake and are now working at walmart, an increase in botched abortions, a harder tax rate because of welfare and perhaps a little infanticide (unlikely but hey you never know).

Anyways i also like the way people say "i would send him to adoption" like if it was the most natural thing... have you ever though about what those children might have lost by going to adoption, and thing about your own feeling for once, i mean you would be thinking about the life you have given to your children for the rest of your life, basically giving a child to adoption is just like giving up your paper as a mother to an institution where you are not sure he will be well threated, in fact you are abandoning a child, what is it worse abandoning your own child because you want to get somewhere at school or making an abortion while the child is not yet alive and cannot feel a thing, also imagine about you carrying a baby inside you from wich you don't know the dad... do you think you would be the same person after it???

I love when people say that great persons would have been lost... like if there were good persons and better persons, if you guys measure your words before slapping them into digital paper you would notice that you are basically saying that " hey lets not make abortions because in the middle of all that abortions there might be someone that invents cheaper and low consumption light bulbs, it would be a major lost to humanity" like the guy that invented the light bulbs would be a superior person to anyone who hadn't invented a thing...

That would make my life better in the longrun. It's okay, though, because I'm selfish anyway."

but the thing is, i hate how some people refer to it as the 'mother's choice,' where as i believe it's more closely related to 'murder' because it ends the future that a human could have had. it's my choice if i want to commit suicide, but it's illegal. it's my choice if i want to commit manslaughter, but it's illegal. it's my choice if i want to ensure the death of millions of animals each year, but even that's frowned upon by others.

a fetus has it's own set of DNA, and the fact that it has living cells screams, "I'M ALIVE!" i don't know if it can feel anything, but then again, i know a lot of heavy-sleepers who also cannot feel to a certain extent. don't deny the basics: it's alive, it has a chance, and you're given the power to take away that chance; don't abuse the power.

Sorry i don't think all of that makes any sense... anyway it might be my problem.
