People say they're more stable, but its hard to be less stable when 90% of software wont run on a machine..

macs suck, and their users are mostly cocks. fact.

Stable and Compatibility are two different things my young friend.

Sarien, do you know anything about upgrading video cards in an iBook? This 32 bit thing is not going well for me.

let me guess.. you think that when they make software, they just make it, and then it's just up to the machine to run it, that it's all the same and standard, don't you?

Otherwise your comment doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and I'm sorry that you were apparently beaten by one of the roving gangs of mac users when you were younger.

It's an onboard video as far as I know, not a card, so you're essentially stuck. There was a expansion display card you could get for a powerbook that could drive a second monitor, but I've no idea how compatible it would be with an ibook. I think the long and the short of it is probably that since it's a laptop, you're kinda stuck with it.

Yeah I was just in the Apple store and they told me the same thing... sorta.

I don't know, I have my iMac for now. It's cool.

Ahahaha! I love this topics ^-^

Anyway i think that people enjoy Mac's because essentially they are very easy to use, very simple and low maintenance. For someone like a designer they don't want to spend to much time working with the antivirus and firewall and restarting, with a Mac they don't even notice they are using a computer, i also heard an argument about how they also have much better font and color management... while that might have been true some years ago today i guess they are more even on that department. I only disagree with Mc users when they say dual G5 is unbeatable...... not true. But not everyone is whilling to spend te money on a dual G5 or a Xeon so for most of you interested in it the Mac is probably your best shot if you don't want to be troubled while working on your newest eye candy pictures and videos, or if you don't want to spend hundrets of euros on software every year...

Talk shit about apple all you want, all it really is, is a personal preference. But at least I've not seen them behave like this.

The only reason there are 'less bugs' on a Mac is because there are fewer Mac users.
The geeks who start writing Viruses will always write them for normal PC's, because they can strike more people, because there just are more PC users than there are Mac users.
So Mac actually has as much so called bugs as normal PC's, but they just don't get exploited.
If Mac would win the 'Computer War' and everybody would start using Macs, you'll see that all of a sudden you even get a lot of viruses on your 'great, fabulous, no-one-can-touch-me Macintosh'.

But I must agree I prefer the design of a Mac.. They know how to please my eye !
But that can not persuade me, as Mac's just aren't compatible enough with Windows in my opinion. You need a lot of adjustments so you can open that goddamn Word file your boss sends you, concerning your payment or whatever...

A good reason to use a Mac

And to the movie Sumpson posted, that's really an example of someone who doesn't know how to use his OS. I can imagine that if you are used to one OS you will be totally helpless on another OS.

Double-click on the file, or single-click and command-O. Both ways opens Microsoft Word files real well.

Sarien, what can you do with a broken iPod? It seems like a HD issue, but I don't want to open it up. I have no warrenty. I have this one that wont work no matter what, and I have yet to open it up. To repair it, Apple said it would cost $250+Tax, so I decided to see what you could do.

There is NO HARM if you break it, so there is no need to be overly cautious. If you need parts, I can pay for them as long as they are not really expensive.

I just need to see what you can do with it.
