She only dies 5 times in the first episode and she doesn't love a twat, yer just jealous that he has that rope!

Further, any VA that can pull that off is worthy of anyones respect.

I guess its just for the show's sake that the angels didn't just all attack at once. Second impact... you didn't specifically say who caused it. Other than that, I guess the rest makes sense. There are still many unanswered questions though, like why only people born a certain day can pilot the Evas, what is the Lance... etc.

The number of eyes on the Evas are supposed to mean something, but i forgot what. And my friend (who introduced me to the series) said something about the Angels eating from the tree of power, and the humans eating from the tree of knowledge...

Yea... I'm done ranting now about Evangelion now.
Watch Full Metal Panic!. Its 1/3 Japanese high school/romantic comedy and 2/3 mecha action. Its a refreshing combination.

I like Excel too, but i've only seen the first dvd.

saw the second dvd of hellsing, dont understand a thing about it. but at least now its mentioned, bleen.

The story, from "day one" is as follows. Long ago we had 1st Impact. This is not when the dinosaurs all died it's the theory that an asteriod collided with earth cause the moon to separate. This brought 2 possibly 3 "sources of life" to our planet. One was Adam, one was Lilith and the other possibility is the Lance, but for now we won't consider that.

Humans, or Lilim are from Lilith as "Angels" are from Adam. Adam and Lilith are not Angels themselves even though NERV refers to them as such. For our purposes to simlify things they are sources of life, similar to a mother and father.

Now the Angels, from Adam, were suppose to inherit the earth or rather become the dominant species they were other posibilities. Lilith however somehow secured the plaent for us the Lilim. Now as you can imagine, we are ourselves on the same level of the family tree as Angels. We are from Lilith, a source of life as Angel's are from Adam.

The reason the Angels are attacking now? They need to get to Adam to cause 3rd Impact and initiate a version of Instrumentality that will cause the destruction of man and reinstate the Angels as the inheritors of the earth that Adams offspring may flourish. You remebmer that 2nd Impact occured 15 years before episode one.

I just finished Eva today... wow what a great anime. I saw the movies too which made the ending just so much better heh. Reading the liner notes from the programmes for the movies really helped too (from my short reading on the net after about the show). My only real question:

Are Shinji and Asuka the last two people on Earth or not? Judging from all the sites I read there are a ton of different intrepretations as there should be. But if you watch you can clearly see all the soul crosses rise up into the air before Yui leaves for good. There doesn't seem to be any crosses going down. But then again all those other people who had "the will to live" might have already been reincarnated as people, and it's just that our heroes happen to reincarnate together because that's the way Shinji wanted things.

Great anime though. I don't understand why Rei is so damn popular, she did nothing and was a robot. Asuka is 100x better

Yeah. But I can't seem to find a good copy of the Japanese Macross anywhere. If I were to buy it it would cost $250 US, which is MUCH too much for me

I have seen MacrossYRL though, good movie, and I have Macross Plus on DVD.

I forgot to review memories.

It's a collection of three short stories. The first one is a varation on the Faulkner story "A Rose for Emily". It's about an opera singer in space. The artwork is beautiful and the plot decent. There is an excellent AMV with this set to the techno remix of Phantom of the Opera.

The second is called "Stink Bomb" and it was okay. The art is standard style and fairly bland. The soundtrack behind it is a weird fusion of styles, I thought it was quite interesting. The story is silly, it's about a boy who kills people with his B.O.

The last of the three wasn't standard anime... it's hard to descrbie what the art was like. It vaugley reminds me of the work of Bill Plympton, but more fluid and grungier. The story is about a city at war.

I'd highly reccomend borrowing this from a friend. I bought and am glad I did, but chances are you'll watch it once and be content.
