I disagree too. This thread became more interesting and enlightening once he stopped.

And how much more interesting would it be if you had someone from his side, from his point of view to offer rebuttals? The topic started out good but it has turned into everyone basically agreeing with another on the issues of homosexuality and abortion. I'd like to see at least a devil's advocate just to see how far this thread can go in terms of responding to opposing viewpoints and comments.

I'd be tempted to hop the fence just for the sake of arguing, but my bible knowledge is very slim after not keeping up with it for a couple of years. We'll see, I'll get back to you guys on this.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains will be your Devil's Advocate. It's includes guides for converting people from all different kinds of religious backgrounds, and rebuttal points and FAQ's regarding evolution, Noah's Ark, and how science supports the bible. Pretty funny shit.

I thought Aenima was doing a good job of doing that, only in a less extreme way that is more open to discussion than HeavenSent was.

it's a question of what topic you see being discussed.

if you want to talk about the legallity of homosexual marriage, i dont think anybody here is going to disagree anymore. (i don't think you'd get a decent argument out of them even if they were here)

if you want to talk about the source of the idea that homosexuallity is morally wrong, aenima was doing a good job, although i disagreed when he said stuff like: "annybody who believes in the bible believes this" he's presenting his interpretation of the scriptures, which is fairly word-for-word.

Aenima, if what you say would be true, the kingdom of god would be a very empty place. There are not alot of people out there anymore who hold out until marriage. And having sex before marriage is as sinful as having sex with the same sex.

I have never believed in God nor the bible. But if I were to believe in God, I would definatly still not believe in the bible.

Hey question for religious folks- is being a bastard (born from a couple that's not married, created from a bed of lust or however you want to explain it), a guaranteed ticket to hell? Or is it just one more bad mark for you?

What if you're born on some remote island and as an infant you're the only one in your village that survives a volcano accident, then you get raised by some apes and they certainly aren't going to tell you about christianity. Do you automatically go to hell then for "not accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior"?

Look up what the first circle of hell is, in Dante's Inferno. It's chock full of people that while not being actively tortured, are there simply because they never heard of the Jesus and so could never commit their faith to him.

So at least one person says yes. Off to hell with you pygmies.

Religion is evil.... You can have the Truth without havng religion.
Hell is a religious, man made thing.
Jesus said to the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with me in paradise."
No purgatory there... that's another man made thing.

The word Hell in the bible is translated from 3 different words. In some instances it's the word, 'SHEOL' which means GRAVE, which would be talking about the flesh and not the spirit. The second word used is, 'GAHENNA' which means effectively, 'TRASH PILE' which later gets burned. The third word used is 'TARTAROO' or Tartarus, which was created for the rebellious angels in heaven who know God and rebel against Him. It is not for dead humans.

So, in reality, outside of religious tradition and rituals, Hell as the general public understand it, does not exist. Everyone goes to heaven. Even now, Satan is bound in heaven until his appointed time to be released upon the earth. (Rev 12:7-12)

God is Love; Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.
Those that have Love have God.

In the O.T. in might have mattered because at the time, God was only dealing with the Hebrews in Israel. Since the ministry of Jesus, God has opened the door for all that'll believe in God's Savior (the definition of the name YAHSHUA/Jesus). It's belief through faith by God's grace that gives us the promise of a salvation.
