Believe it or not, they have operations other than selling marijuana to some high schoolers. Also, I dont think you could ever walk down the street smoking, seeing as how it has similar effects to alcohol and public drunkenness is illegal.

I notice that as the only qualified person to post, you have noted the bad health effects of the drug compared to others. Actually you are right, most of the problems (and money) comes from the hard drugs like cocaine (Colombia) and opium (Afghanistan). I can't see someone legalize it so gangs and drug dealers will always be as long as there is demand for the drugs.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet that the punishment is more severe over there than over here. Our penalty system is retarded. If I remember correctly, our maximum punishment for rape is something along 3 and half years. The usual conviction is more or less a year!

That's why I said a lot more than in your country. A lot of people think America's laws are too tough, and I'd have to agree but most of Europe's and Canada's laws are too lax. What's worse a society that's too hard on its criminals or one that's too soft? I respect the fact that America makes sure child rapists and rapists in general do serve time for their crime, unlike our prisons here which are a walk in the park.

I think Canada needs to toughen up our law,s but we're no where near as bad as Finland. No offense Da1 but 1 year for raping someone is pretty fucked up.

In what world do you live in that you get caught selling a fairly small amount of weed for personal use to some college/high school kid and get locked up for life? These are either several time offenders or ringleaders.

Jerome, there are many reasons besides people like me that keep you from joining the armed forces..probably on the top of the list would be the drug tests. But my career decisions have nothing to do with the argument at hand. As for your post there are other drugs than marijuana, believe it or not. Why dont we just legalize all of them, too? Then surely we wouldnt have drug related gang violence.

Noah, you can think im 'going against the grain' all you want, but really if you all have mostly leftist points of view and I lean mostly towards the right we're going to disagree on most things. I dont see anyone else that posts here thats really pro death penalty, for instance, but I think seeing as how its a topic of discussion in america there are obviously plenty of people like me out there. Just not on these forums, so call me a troll all you want and even ban me for it I guess, but the only thing I'm doing is voicing my opinion which usually just isnt the same as yours.

As far as my post in trice's thread, I have my own reasons not to feel sympathy until I know what happened to someone. Mostly these reasons are because I know people who died fighting in support of others' freedom. Compare this to say...Heath Ledger's death. I mean personally when you're sitting by the radio room and youre listening for an hour about a convoy that broke down and was surrounded by high ground, then eventually got hit by an ambush and someone died...then you hear on the news about some millionaire actor that overdosed and fucking killed himself and everyone feels sorry for him its bullshit. Plain and simple. I dont really care if you agree with that and Im not implying thats what happened, but I dont jump to conclusions on things like that for a reason.
