See you are the kind of person i don't like. I plan to live a happy life where i can provide my future children with whatever they need. But i define success by being able to provide when they need it most. I plan to make the most money i can in my life for 2 reasons. 1) I want to absolutely spoil my parents for what they have provided me with so far, we aren't exactly a middle class family but we are ok. 2) Many of parents' brother and sisters are starving overseas, we can barely afford to feed them, and some of my Aunt's kids have died simply because we could not afford an operation for them. This is what i plan to eliminate completely. This is what makes money so damn important, yes you can laugh all you want, but my life will be rich in family and wealth.

As long as people enjoy their jobs and what they get from that job, it should be enough. No matter how good your job pays, you always want more. You can NEVER make enough money if that is your goal in life. So it's much more important to be satisfied with your work in life as long as you make enough to support yourself.

I'm surprized animators make so much in North America... in Japan, they get paid like peanuts (15k/year).

And to put into perspective about plumbers...

Back in school, our pipes broke one day, so we had to call in a plumber. He asked my housemates and I how long until we started to really work and we said probably around 30 years old. And he was like damn I make 6 figures, have a house, cottage, a boat and 3 trucks all paid for and I'm only 30.. good luck guys, wouldn't want to be in your shoes!.
