I agree that this isn't an incredibly high priority in the grand scheme, but you're buying into a myth perpetuated by the big telcos and "media" companies. Urban (and suburban) ultra-high speed broadband is quite doable if we made a halfway intelligent attempt at implementing it. Rural coverage could be done with wireless meshes. The possibilities are very real, and in most cases, not prohibitively expensive.

Of course I dont own a house. I also wouldnt buy a 200000+$ house on my salary with no down payment because that is unreasonable. What was wrong with the standard 20% down payment and mortgage payment cannot exceed 33 or so % of your income? That works pretty well doesnt it?

Its not a high priority and my only point is that we can spend the money elsewhere. I guess where I stand on this would be similar to: No I cant afford my mortgage payment, but I can buy myself a new xbox for 200$! It's cheap!

It's funny that you bring that up, I sorta decided to take this thread in another direction about 10 pages ago or so after I realize that most the people arguing with me were foreigners who couldn't vote in the election, or people that were so far left that they couldn't see reason. Now I just make my points in a way that offend as many people as possible so I have stuff to read. But if you read the first 5 pages I think you can see that I know what I am talking about "Zerzera". Really? How often in our country do people rush to accusations without learning the facts? How many go along with fear mongering and only care to learn about a crisis when it is apparent it affects them as well? If you are going to call me stupid, do it with better grammar, it isn't a last resort argument it is just ironic.

I was saying that after coming home from work, I would rather watch football and have some drinks with some friends than type a really long post that very few people will actually read because it is above their level. I am sure you can agree with that one.

I dropped out of high school, but what you don't understand is that the educational system in America is terrible, and I learn far more on my own than I ever did in school. Even with me being in all the advanced placement classes when I was younger I was still bored. I wasn't really great at math but that wasn't something that I planned to use in life, I understood it the point that I would need it and that is all that mattered. I am all for people learning on their own rather than wasting time in school learning how to sit at a desk and do paperwork for eight hours.

Immigrants are a lot of the problem, I went to the doctor today actually and we were having a conversation. She said that if we change our health care system in America that it will destroy it, and that people like me and her were going to be the ones paying for the lazy people on welfare's health care. I agreed and said "well we sorta already are" where we then both agreed about the detriment of illegal aliens on our society and economy. Maybe I blame them because they cause a problem, one that I am personally not willing to pay for. I never said black people were our problem, I said lazy welfare recipients, if you want to think black person when I say that so be it, I know there are also a lot of trailer trash that receive welfare from my tax dollars also.

I should get to decide what others can and can't do if they are living off me, if I pay my money to the government, and then the government gives it to these able bodied people whose only health problem is laziness. Then I do deserve a say as to what these people are doing, they either need to find a job and get off welfare or we need to cut them off so they are forced to find a job. Lets put it this way, you make 500 dollars a week and there is this bum on the corner, and every week you give him 100 dollars out of that. However after awhile you realize that the guy is just wasting his money on alcohol and cigarettes instead of getting cleaned up and finding a job. So you stop giving him the money. Well the bum gets pissed off because he thinks hes "entitled" to that money for doing nothing, because nobody has ever told him otherwise. So instead of being grateful for the money you have given him, he now hates you because you stopped giving him money for doing nothing. I think you would be pretty pissed also, no matter how liberal your shitty town is when it comes down to what it really is, nobody likes giving people money for doing nothing, especially when you have to earn it.
