First of all, the point of Christmas is to give. Not only that she made a special request that people didn't have to get her a present, and if they did she rather they donate it to someone who really needs it.

Being selfless never goes out of style. You might expect random worthless possessions but I don't. I'm not six, I don't throw a temper tantrum if someone didn't put a twenty in my birthday card. When you expect nothing and receive something it makes that gift ten times better.

is it a good idea to lump my gal's Xmas present with her birfday present and take her to Las Vegas?

cuz it gets cheap come january and february. she was excited by the idea and I wouldn't mind going at the beginning of next september for a vacation.

I said in another thread that I went half in on a Nikon D-40.

I've also collected hard copies of each edition of the newspaper I've written for this year. My mom will love that. In addition my brother and I are going halfsies on a hugeass external harddrive so she can save all her pictures.

I'll get my roommate a shirt or something and I don't know what to get my brother yet. I'll figure something out.

well I just got back from christmas shopping today

and I only went to two stores (Bealls Outlet and Big Lots - man I love em)

went in with 100 bucks

2 shirts for my grandmother
2 shirts for my sister
2 shirts for her husband
a disney princess handbag and the rainbow care bear singing the ABC's for their 20 month old daughter
a blow dryer and a lighted, magnifying mirror, and an umbrella for my mom
a new wallet, screw driver with all the different heads, and a 6 piece tool set that includes plyers, screwdriver, level, measuring tape, hammer, and 40 pieces of furnishing screws, etc.. for my dad

Came out of all that with 10 bucks to spare, oh yeah.

Besides the birth of Christ it's also a time to be kind and considerate, as well as give to those in need.
