No, it's not ok that he cheated. Chinese culture is about taking care of your family - monetarily. It's a business arrangement, at least for people who are wealthy and successful. The wife knows that her husband has mistresses but just doesn't ask and ignores it.

So no, it's not ok. But considering the only way I've been able to talk to him is intermittently on google chat, I need to actually talk to him on the phone, and see him face to face before we decide what to do. If he accepts what he did was wrong and makes efforts to not let it happen again, ok. I believe in second chances for people that want them. He's immature for his age, and despite the way my posts sounded last night, I'm mature for my age. We meet in the middle. When we're together, we get along really great and things are fine. I'm not in that 98% - when I met him I wasn't looking for a relationship... it just kind of happened as time progressed. And it really is a relationship - we're compatible (up until this happened) and we can both be goofy and immature together or we can be serious. It's a karaoke thing in Asia... you pay to get in and there are these girls that work there and that's basically their job. Sure you have to pay to get a little extra, just like strippers, but that's what they're there for. It's kind of fucked up.
