I did not say that at all, the point I was making was about lex parsimoniae. I buy into that, it has been my experience making fewer assumptions is often the correct approach.
So if you see a line of trees knocked over, the least amount of assumptions is that wind blew them over oe someone cut them down. It take a lot more assumptions to buy into the belief that an alien spaceship broke every known physical law do it, or that God came and performed a miracle, or that the Loch Ness monster did it, or that the big, bad governement snuck in the dark of night and did it. But no question that I’ve been wrong before, folks can certainly hook their wagons to Tone if they see fit.
