i just got an account yesterday. it's probably just like gmail was when it was in beta. the longer you were in it (and the more you used it) the more invites you would get.

i really hope this takes off because i could actually see myself using this. i love the circles. that's the one thing keeping me from using facebook. you end up oversharing with people whom you don't want to know what you have going on. plus, as gall said, the google+ android app is pretty damn slick.
