Muslimstudio1>Word is that he's making the new King Kong.. LoL.. Cant wait.

Yeah, I recall in a Peter Jackson interview he said that is his big dream to make KING KONG.

I'm going to see it as well tonight, and can't wait...abit anxious right now.

I just hope I don't have to take a pee during this mega long movie. They should have INTERMISSION halfway thru for like 10-15mins, such a long movie...that is good, but when sitting in a chair for 3-4hrs, nature will call..lol

True. Everyone in the theathe kept clapping and clapping. I think the movie was flawless, it couldn't have been done any better. It went along pretty well with the book. Such a great movie.

Tip: DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE WITH A FEMALE BETWEEN 14 AND 20.

            Reasoning: THEY WILL CRY.

I don't understand it. About half of the audience was female, and precisely that half of the audience was crying. WHAT WAS SO GOD-DAMN SAD ABOUT IT? I thought it was a good movie overall.

Erm, he didn't say people weren't allowed to say it in his presence, or else. He just said he's tired of hearing it, and I concur.

I've got tix, but they're for Sunday. Too damn long to wait! >_<

                From ROTK

the part after Gollum frames Sam for eating the lembas
                Frodo: "Go home Sam."
Sam pouts and cries, and actually starts to leave.

No matter how you want to explain it, THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN, and didn't have to happen. Most other things I can understand, but this, I don't understand.

Don't preach to me about Peter Jackson not covering every little detail, I understand as well as you why he can't hit the nail on the head each time. The point is, you can't help comparing the movie to the book.

I'm not saying I didn't like the movie, it was a freaking amazing movie, no doubt (although I wish Eowyn looked more glamorous when she fought the Witch King).

Also, I heard the Scouring of the Shire wasn't even shot, that's a big freaking deal.

Does being scared during Shelob's fight and when Gollum shows up in Mt. Doom count as crying?:P

There were quite a few gasps when Shelob first made her appearance.

yeah that was my biggest gripe with the movie that the scouring wasn't ever shot. but i understand because that was a good like 200 pages of the book and to shoot that would have required a lot of more effort and time.

plus, when you think about it, how would people who hadn't read the books react to that scene? i mean, you think the movies over and everyone's going home and all of a sudden there's another hour or hour and a half left of the movie after sauron has been defeated. i personally would have liked it better had they included the scouring but i understand why they wouldn't and i still think it was fucking awesome.

I think they wanted to create tension and show that the ring was really working on Frodo's mind. Same reason they changed Faramir in TTT. I thought it worked pretty well.

The Scouring would have been an incredibly stupid way to end the movie. The movie ending drug on too long as it was. I could sense most of the crowd getting antsy. The Scouring would have been the perfect anti-climatic ending.

So the thought comes up that the movie was made for the average movie goer, with a few things to make the book readers happy.

If Jackson had said that ^^, as opposed to "We tried to stay as true to the book as possible." then I'd be more pleased.

She had to disguise herself as a common soldier to even sneak into the battle.
can we please have a moment for silence for those who died from black on black violence

Going into the theatre and expecting the movie to be more than what it is is a mistake. Sure, it's based on the books, but you still have to examine it on its own. It's like listening to a band perform a cover of one of your favourite songs. If you expect it to be exactly the same then you'll be disappointed, and you very well should be. Instead you have to listen to the new version for how the harmonies are slightly different or where an unexpected riff was inserted or how the electric guitar has been replaced by an accordian.

Yeah, yeah, I know, some of you will argue that it's different because a cover song is still using the same media, but because the films is a change in media from the original text, that just makes expectations of it being similar to the original even more hopeless.

                              I think he did that.

I'm impressed that they didn't make Sam use the ring in Mordor, which has always had me confused in the book. Sauron is always looking for the ring, yet when a guy comes waltzing into his land wearing it, he can't spot it.

Ditto the dead soliders part. "Oh, all this time I have had this undefeatable army waiting for me. I probably should have mentioned that earlier."

I saw it. Great movie. Absolutely great movie. Granted things were different from the book, that's going to happen. Learned that with The Two Towers. Leaving out Sarumans staff breaking. Changing the Army of the dead a bit. Merry coming to the final Battle. Many things weren't right. But all in all it was an amazing movie
