I think mods should re-title threads more often. If I had been 100% sure that Rule's "five fun years" thread was a retirement thread, I wouldn't have clicked on it (granted, I was 97% sure, and that should have been enough, but whatever). For instance, looking in general discussion, an example of a bad thread title is "what is your favorite..." because that includes nothing about what the thread is about. I clicked on that thread because I thought it might be interesting, but it was about 3d animated movies, which I have no interest in. If it had been called "3d animated movies" I would definitely not have clicked on it. I mean, whatever.

I agree with you that Facetious. A lot of people just don't seem to put the same amount of thought into naming their threads as they do in writing the threads themselves (and even then, not much thought is put into writing them either.)

As for retirement threads, it's true that most people don't really care about the person or that he's retiring. On the other hand, in each of the retirement threads, there's usually at least one person who replies and shows that they do indeed care, and that's reason enough to leave these threads alone.

Just about every post in this god forsaken forum is ridiculous, pointless and a complete waste of time. Its a message board for an online game not discussions on quantum theory, so really what do you expect?

Can we put a stop to this? Make a forum staff policy to delete every "Hey guys I'm leaving" -thread on sight? Everyone who cares you're 'retiring' from a spaceship game you've propably already talked to in-game and they'll find the forum post quite useless. In fact, I find each and every one of these ridiculous. I find 'retiring' from this game ridiculous. I find trying to fish for attention with these retirement threads on the forums REALLY ridiculous. Laughable. Stop it.

I find your point of view laughable. Bitching, judging and getting offended by others simply saying goodbye. I am out for good, there is no need for attention and their will be no return. Fairly simple concept Blood if you are not interested in a topic, don't pay attention to it.

Don't like it - don't read it? That's the argument you're going with? You're missing the point completely. Rule, you are one of the exceptional few people that I'd allow to make a retirement thread since I don't really talk to you as often anymore but I did in the past and for some reason I actually care if you retire or not. But whenever an "InCure." or someone makes a thread, they're just being attention whores. To make my argument less personal, I'll state the fact that only an established member of the TW community should ever make an announcement of his retirement. Say Epinephrine? He could make one. Maybe Disqualifier? I actually think he made one already, or was it just for -FiNAL-, I forget. (if he made one for himself he should choke on something and die because I still see him on five times a week). I can't draw a clear line as to when a retirement announcement is just an announcement or a way to get people to notice you, but with Rule vs. InCure. the case is clear. And Rule, if you are indeed 'retiring' (means that he won't play anymore), please DON'T play anymore. If you fucking ever come back online again you're a complete whore for attention.
