People in staff are always going to be biased, Rodge was NEVER one of them, atleast to what I had seen. He was a REAL staffer, even though a bit of an automatic machine like host at times, he still had fun and wanted to improve this game. I can see how the "I quit, let this place sink into the depths of Hell" approach would be a bit effective. I liked Rodge, and actually respected him as an authoritative figure.

I freely admit I don't know much about the staff situation. So I can't make many comments or even suggestions about all that, to make it better, other than saying that you can't keep things the exact same forever, because after a while, the exact same thing over and over will wear anybody down to a nub.
However, as to that PriitK comment:
He wrote it, and you couldn't force it from him with a lead pipe. Nor do you have the right to. Believe me, I want a version of Continuum that uses OpenGL and runs on OS X more than anybody, but he put his work into it, and if he wants to do anything with it, including wipe his ass with it, he has that right. It's his. If he never wants to release another version of the game forever, he has that right too. He doesn't owe it to anybody except in the sense that he has a loyal following for his game, and he shouldn't dick with them if he can avoid it. I do think however, he could at least entertain the thought of releasing the source minus his security encryption, and fold good new stuff into the official distribution, and release it himself, giving props to the people responsible for good new additions, after adding back in his security protocols.

That way, pretty much everybody benefits.
