Tats axed - wanna know why

But perhaps this doesn't apply since Tats isn't a staffer now?

I guess I really don't understand the value we are adding in this 'Staff' forum. Of the last 18 threads, 2/3's have been moved or closed. Of the ones that aren't closed or moved, many are flames of people associated with staff (basically just avoiding being closed).

Is this 'Staff' forum really worth having if we are just going to fill it up with this kind of stuff?

I remember the time ( a long time ago) when this forum had some decent threads. But perhaps you have a point. Things such as suggestions for staff have been made redundant now that TWPS forums exist. What else is there left for this forum, besides a place to whine to? (please, someone answer this question)

Oh theres that one thread about the hacked staffer account. But those are few and far between. (perhaps make this forum a private one, so people can only post in a thread they have created, unless they're forum mods. Might cut back on attention seekers, especially if threads are hidden from the public eye.)

Funny how non of the mods have actually responded to my initial comments about how tw is a game not a government or dictatorship. Prehaps you would like to me tell you again in a more simple form.

Doing one zoner stating "lies - tatsumaru uk" will not cause any trouble to the players of tw - speccing randomly (like webbb <ER> would do) is unacceptable as well as power abuse that had direct links to peoples game play. however this was just a zoner which did not offend or comprimise anyones enjoyment of the game.

Least tats does something in staff - i am always in a priv arena with him and i know first hand that hes often answering cheater calls (just in case british, zeus, aznu and i.d and the other lazy mods out there (which ther are more) - a cheater call is something that someone does when a player thinks that another playing is doing illegal stuff - you should try answering these sometimes, after all it is what your there for)

Seems like the main amount of players saying that tats should be axed are ones that have actually been warned or banned by him - what a valid opinion they hold - just as well the complaints e-mail is ignored most of the time

pathetic axing i think, tw staff has always been a "government", its just all about power trips basically. Has been ever since poid was axed as dean, well with the exception of pusher i would say as he had a sense of humour. People get to smod within like 4/5 months of being staff, and wonder why zone is in a decline. At the end of the day, get on with the upper staff and you got your mod/smod, if you argue with them enjoy zh/er or just be axed heh. This is not a dig at P_L or other smods, as i get on with most of them as it happens, but, its the system where the problem lies.
End of the day, anyone who wants to be staff in TW better be prepared to have any enjoyment they have of ss ruined, because within a year, you would want to quit the zone.
Final note: PL your funny and all, but get your sense of humor back, no harm in sending a zoner, it didnt crash the zone or anything, its a bit of fun, your running a million dollar coorporation here, so stop acting like it is one At least HZ staff is 10 times more fun woo!

maybe you should all read the initial quote first.. "He was already on the 'short leash' from the cheating incident".. Tats was axed for using cheat engine before this whole incident happened. A lot of staffs were surprised that he was allowed back in staff after that. The only proper reason we got for it is he agree'd not to do anything stupid anymore. Of course, sending zoners won't crash the server, but zoners are for making announcements, or advertise for events. They are not for personal use. I personally wasnt there when this happened, but I'd assume that Tats didnt get permission from Dock? Cause if he did, i really doubt p_l would axe him just like that.

There is no "critisisum" for me to answer to. I am just an ER, and I really have no say in how things are run.

I agree that Tatsumaru took a lot of cheater calls, but that's all I can really comment on as I have no idea how good he was at actually looking after them.

As you obviously know, he was axed once for cheating. He was allowed to rejoin staff again afterwards, which I personally thought was ok because he was a good staffer and I didn't personally think that one small mistake should screw someone over. If I was in his situation, I would have been pretty careful not to do anything stupid again.

Have you ever seen someone use a zoner message for anything besides game adverts or news updates? It's because we aren't supposed to. I'm not going to tell you specfically why, but it just doesn't happen. Bad idea to do one like that when you're in Tatsumaru's spot.

On another subject:

lol damn nethila that's a good reply.. but infact i am doing private work behind the scenes side by side with 2dragons. I am not replaceable like that *click*, i know much much more than most about settings, maps and staff commands. Just don't asume i know only mod commands and that's IT.

Sorry, but pretty much everyone on TW staff is replacable. The only people hard to replace are the more involved MatchBot developers and some of the web developers. It's pretty hard to get people to do work like that for free. Any ZHs/ERs/Mods and most Smods are easily replacable.

It's not a democracy and there are little rights, I could list a number of cases where this is true. Upper staff could axe me, ban you or take out elim or any arena for no reason. All of that wouldn't be in their intrest when the goal is to get a higher population (or maintain the current population) so they won't do it. The point is they can do anything. That's the reality of it.

Davie, Tatsumaru uk was already told, do anything out of the ordinary, wrong or abusive and he would be removed. That's pretty reasonable, I wouldn't have given him the chance so quickly or without resolving the cheating issue, that's where Upper staff failed. The main thing here is he lied about DoCk> clearing him to do it and when you're told don't fuck up at all or you're out, well that's two there to me.


I'm not questioning his contribution here, if he has anything left to do or really wants to help the zone he can do it without any type of power or access in game because that's how it will be from now on. You mention a lot of other Moderators. I would like to point out that Zeus, Steph, Anzu all do thing outside of the normal mod quota and British wouldn't care what anyone says.

At the same time you can not view the break down of call scores for each staffer, so it's more unfair for you and other non staffers to be rating them, good or bad in my opinion.

There will always be people calling their bans/warnings unfair, it's natural. As for taking cheater and help calls I wouldn't know about Tats because I'm not there to watch staffers but the bulk of compliants signifys something on its own. His presents was fragmenting staff and causing arguments aswell. There were more then a few unsettled players.

Mantra and Pure_Luck should be offering this type of information to staffers privately. When people like Tats effect a number of staffers and players announcements should also be posted in this forum, with the threads locked though. I don't think this forum serves its purpose anymore.

I always figured the goal was to keep TW a pleasant environment for gameplay. If as a by product was that more people are in TW enjoying themselves its not a bad thing.

That also but you keep a higher population by keeping the enviroment fun and enjoyable. It should be more concrete anyways. Once a PR Smod is picked (we've been waiting for months now..) he or she could write up a mission statement.

I had just finished hosting a super sharks in deathmatch with no fucking shrap thank god (I'm not supposed to host and there was nothing going on so I laid on some entertainment until an ER logged on) and was going out for the evening, so I left the bot on super and told people about it if they wanted a change of event. In what way was I "asking for it"? Did I let people play super instead or did I tell everyone something wasn't being hosted when I knew full well it was?
1) My zoner actually had a point
2) It wasn't decieving 500 people on purpose
3) If we let tats do that what kind of precedent does it set to the other people with access to zoner messages?
4) And if we let people do that what does it say about tw staff?
5) He was on a warning from another disgression, even if you don't think it was worthy of a red card he still collected two yellows
6) You have not thought that post through at all
7) If something had been hosted elsewhere and I was just sending this zoner as an attempt to draw people away from that event without actually offering a different game then you can compare it to the other zoner
