appeal for twd roster cap at 100 members

the referee sets rules to let the game run well, however it takes away the fun of people, same thing, sometimes its needed to let the game run better.

however, that would have to mean players would have more fun when they are on different squads or when there gets a roster limit.
This is not true, I would like to see squads not take up a ton of players to have more squads, and more competitiveness. But those who are in a big squad like it there and changing it would make them more unhappy than I care.

i'm not fond off all the squad hopping etc and if you brought in a squad number limit cap maybe it would cut this down a bit with less squads taking in players, or should i say robbing lesser squads off their members just to bench in most games that matter at all


however there is a balance, as the league with the biggest number off ppl for 1 game requires 16 ppl to fill it. Since we are a shrinking population and to have enough squads actually registering 8 online that aren't afk and have competeing squads with also 8 willing to fight them , this is a problem

a roster cap would help, as players are distributed throughout more squads, however to low a cap will have a negative effect as no one will have enough to bd regularly



at first i'd definitely back a 40 man cap , no more is needed i think except for nostalgia members who have effectively retired but you don't want to kick, though it is fun to twd with those guys ^^ --maybe have some sort of re-sign delay if the same name/ip hasn't been on a diff squad since axing, there is no penalty in them rejoining the same squad and twd-ing .. might be to open to abuse idunno haven't thought it through only typed it out as an answer to my own point :S

after that i's see what effect reducing it to 35 has, lower than that only works for real dedicated squads. specialy 3 league would find that hard?, and there should be more room for laid back squads in my opinion

I don't care what happens, as long as there's no retarded limit like 35 or less put in for TWD. That gets rid of the whole "let's select our BEST ACTIVE members to play in TWL" idea, which I'm not fond of getting rid of. Plus it also screws with semi-inactive members who like to play casually once in a while when they log on. You can't and shouldn't FORCE squads to be so selective, if they aren't selective squads in the first place. You can't thrust competitiveness upon squads who like to play for fun, and not so competitively.

And most of you know anyway you would not recruit many if not any of the GiantTiger members to train them to make them better if the roster got capped at 50-100.

The funny part is you guys assume that if they're taken off of GiantTiger just so GT can qualify for some roster cap, that they'll want to continue TWD in other squads.

What if you cut the players off GT so it's under the cap, then those cut players don't bother with TWD since they're not on GT? "Oh man, squads should be allowed to have as many as they want so that there's always someone to do TWD against!" Kthx.

Or they could make another squad like you say, then what if those 2 squads decide to only play each other since they're sure the air of competition is the same in both and they know they won't have to deal with some elitist prick lording their "skill" over them? "Oh there should be a rule so that squads can't just play only one other squad."

My point? You would bitch about anything if you thought it affected you. Here's news: It doesn't. Now kindly stfu and try to find something meaningful to whine about.

I have yet to understand how some of you are drawing the conclusion that roster capping is going to create more activity and competition within TWD.

Each squad will most likely kick the players that are the least active, least skilled, or least liked of the squad. And IF--and that's a big assumption---these newly exiled players all go off and create a bunch of disorganized, inactive and inexperienced squads, what realistic chance do they stand at lasting more than a month or two before they dissolve? The focus should be more on training than alienating.

If TWD Staff is going to force Squad Captains to kick players for the purposes of creating more activity and competition, the very least they can do is provide training material which these less experienced, less organized Caps can use to help run their new squads. Although Rab's guide is still stickied in the TWD section of the forums, I don't know how long we can count on it remaining hosted (considering recent events).

If the whole object is to create more competition and activity, it should be handled more responsibly than just taking a machete to a bloated roster. In other words, if TWD Ops is going to be the lumberjack, maybe they can at least teach some people to be carpenters, as well.

I honestly don't know how practical my suggestion is, but it's better than being just another forum asshole who just complains about everything and shits on staff while doing nothing to try and help.

It doesn't. Other squads tend to have more people on at a time than GiantTiger, or at least the same amount, but nobody complains about the other squads. I guess THEY'RE holding back TWD, also?

Your complaint makes no sense, and this argument is pointed directly at a single squad. This complaint is not bought up as a "hmm, one way to make more activity that I just thought up for no reason whatsoever." It's bought up as "what? 120 people? My squad doesn't have 120! They shouldn't be allowed to have so many players!"

People are obviously not going to see it the same way as you do. Like I said, there are usually about 2 lines (for a ?chat) worth of people (10 or so) on. Separating the squad into bits would spread it out even more because maybe some new players aren't as addicted or maybe their first time playing they got called newbs.

most of the people in GT never get to play or have never played. when ever we dd them we play the same players it seems. only 50 in GT have acctually played any twd ever. surely those players who arnt playing would be better off on a squad where they would get the chance to play.

im not picking on GT either only 26 outta 60 players have played in twd in BW.

isnt this their problem? maybe they just like to have fun time to time. Also it should help if few unskilled players playes with more skillful - this at least gives them better opportunity to learn.
If u just kicked them out they will MAYBE form new squad but this will CERTAINLY get kicked their ass. And nobody likes losing too much so this may at the end harm the TWD activity because they may leave completly. I think for competetive squads and good players is obvious that if u want to TWL than joining a 100 member squad is probably not good idea (TWL roster limit). But for the rest - beginners - this is definatelly good way how to get into TWD. And if they wont get picked then they may leave anytime they want to. If the players have fun on the big squad I dont see reason to stop that. Especailly because we can expect that more new players are on that squad.

They log on, they play ... simple as that ... most of them need kicking really xD

Perhaps they don't login every day. I mean there's people I see whenever I logon, but at different hours it's always different people. Maybe they just want to be in the squad community and play sparingly. I know being in a squad is definitely more fun than not having one, even if it has so many people that you won't remember everyone.
