Some of these things may have already been posted on here but here are my 2 cents worth on them anyways:

The other day there was someone in pub with over 1200 ping. Naturally I did a call for it. The reply I got from staff was something a long the lines of "well it is pub". That reply alone just goes to show some staff just do not care. It may only be pub but it is disruptive especially for someone new, "wow laggy ass game, screw this".

Someone mentioned xfire, the problem with xfire is it creates major lag sometimes. Especially if your already laggy. I remember using ventrilo with teks, it also creates lag, but with a voicechat, it adds so much more to the game. Maybe there could be some way to make that an in-game option for players with good connections.

Lemmin touched on another major problem for new players. Quicksands favorite macro, ez. If you join a game going 1-10 and every time you die some jerk yells out "ez noob!" why would you stay and play? Mute those players that do that. Again distruptive to pub which is rule #11 listed top left corner of pub. Also see bad attitudes like that on forum as well. "oh your idea sucks" type posts. YOU SUCK, does nothing to help, post why it is a bad idea.

Some have mentioned distension. I love the game, but putting it as pub would be horrid, I can barely convince anyone to even try it because of how hard it is to start out. You have to have to be stubburn to get anywhere in that game, but it is worth it later on.

Tutorial, simple solution, make newly created players go to like ?go tutorial. There they are met with a staffer who shows them how to play, not some annoying help ticker you can not see because of pubchat spam. With so many zh's make them have to fill a quota of going there 1 hour a day or something. They would be more use there instead of replying to help calls and going "Hi" then "Oh uhh I dunno". <--That gets annoying quick lol, on that note better staff training might be useful as well.

Websites, bring back pubstats site that was great to see all your pubwork shown there months later, even years later. Also find some staff that are less lazy to work on the websites, I mean how long did it take to get that triple stat bug fixed when you were shipswitched during a BD? Also I bet the lancaster-weasel bug is still there, I mentioned it to staff one time they said who cares, well all the little things add up you know. I remember TWEL site had a banner problem, I did a bunch of help calls nobody either cared or new how to go about fixing it, mentioned it to riistar (riistar is great, always helping me with my annoying questions, need more staff like him) one time and he fixed it within like 5-10 minutes. Speaking of TWEL, playoffs were suppossed to start in september, of LAST year. It is now march. If you do not have the time to look after something, get someone else to. There are lots of people willing to step up, go through those staff applications already. Also this forum, why do we have to contact someone to get registered, how poorly is this forum setup, even I can fix that (if that last part was fixed already I apologize not checked in some time).

Upgrades, It would be nice to see some graphic updates, there is so much more this little game can do. Younger generations will take one look at this game and go "ew this looks like my moms atari it is so old, I am going back to WoW". This should not be a priority though. Would also be nice to see a resolution cap increase, not too high though, I personally have a 24 in widescreen monitor, things are rather large, so weather I use a higher res or not I have an advantage. Making the cap to like 1600x1200 would be nice. My windows is in 1920x1200 lol.

TWD, just a thought, has been mentioned before. Seperate the TWD divisions, this way players can play on DD squads and BD squads if they so choose. This might help the BD ladder a bit as well. Also someone mentioned before, 2v2 option in go duel, sounds like a great idea. That be kind of like tourny but duel is ranked, and a playoff. I think that be loads of fun personally. Another thought on TWEL, add the avg rating of your opponent like on the TWD ladder.

Oh I almost forgot, mr arrogant...extend his abilities to ?go base. Quite often I see ?go base die because captains are adding players that are either too new to know better or have such a low IQ they do not understand how to use the !notplaying option <--you "vets" know who you are.

It is nice to see some are willing to listen to us rant and complain, hope something good comes out of all this.

?go tutorial is being made right now, also pubstats website i think MMav is working on?

And that ZHs should get better trained i dont know, Its not like you go through whole game with any SMods when you get recruited, When you get recruited you should know most of the stuff in the game already,
As for me I've never come to the problem that i haven't known the answer to a call I've taken, So the 'training' i think is good enough. And also,
Thats why you should ask the question in ?help and not like this: ?help Can you come and help me?

But.. ?help How do you toggle off the "help green messages" ?

This way the ZHs /or whatever staffers that are on knows what the question will be and if they have a answer to it, You should ofcourse not take a call that you dont know the answer to.

I believe that staffer was me.
There's a good reason I did nothing regarding that call; I saw his lag even before you sent the call and decided against any action, since the 1200 ms spike lasted maybe a minute if not less, and warning him for a brief period of lag he probably hasn't even noticed might make *him* think less of the zone, contrary to your point.
This is not to say we're not taking action when a more pressing lag case comes up, I can be a dick sometimes. This particular case was nothing to freak out about though.

Yes burzum it was you. I was leaving names out of the post. That was not the first time I have seen staff give a "I don't give a shit about pub" reply. For the record it was not some spike he was lagging like that for some time. His lag "fixed" itself shortly after I did the first call for it. The point was missed however, the comment was more on how several staff seem to not care about lag issues in the game, especially in pub. There really is no need to have over 1000ms in this game. I can have lots of things running in the background and rarely ever see over 100ms. Speaking of lag, a lot of euro's have lag problems, is there no way to fix it so they can play?

On the regards of the meeting, Dwopple and I, suggested a TWI (intermediate league) for newer basers (I guess wecan have Dueling and Javelin). An issue popped up saying that we don't have enough squads to participate. We'll there was a TWI before, but that one obviously failed because lack of support from the staff, and the bots weren't stable at that time, although they were enough squads to participate back then, but now, I am not so sure. My question is, would your squad participate in this league? Would we design a website for it, and would we have enough staff support to back up this league? Are their enough squads? How would we format this league (similar to TWL?) This would be a great for the squads in off season to be active, I think and would make the newer squads stay alive a little longer than usual,and something to strive for.

On the population size, well I know Chaos zone has three major leagues (intermediate league aswell) and they have way lower population then ours, dont see what's the problem is.

I think the meeting was productive. I know it was hard at times trying to keep people from getting off topic or being annoying but you sort of learn to handle the information overload a week or two after being on staff chat.

However why not just make each of these into polls, and advertise them in pubs individually for 1 week each. Just a thought
