I finally understand now that when you do suspend staffers for n-word typos etc., and when staff unnecessarily warn players for n-word references that nobody gets offended by, you do it out of "consistency". It's funny because this kind of "consistency" is going to plummet this zone into the ground with your declining number of players. As I've said times before, if nobody is offended by such terminology, and can get by with people using the n-word, no warnings should be issued. If no warnings are issued, it doesn't mean Trench Wars condones racism, it means that the staff can make decisions that punish those that purposely offend others by racist means.

A little off topic there, but I felt it had to be said. It's not me being pessimistic, it's me saying that some things in this zone can be immensely stupid. This is possibly one of them. Stargazer has apologised even though what he did was not expressing his true views on race (Or his views on Abos for this matter...). And as Barton said, get over it, it's a typo. That doesn't only apply to those who are posting seemingly useless replies to this thread, but to staff as well.

I'd like to say on behalf of a lot of staff that we try to look at context when making warnings/bans. We dont simply go by "consistency." Stargazer wants to do what he thinks is right, but I believe most staffers are smart enough to see it was a typo.

This zero tolerence policy regarding racism is absoloute bullshit. If stargaer wasnt so submissive and stood up for himself then the person who suspended him would surely get suspended himself. Stargazer must be restored to his staff position and whoever suspended him needs some training in common sense.

I Did mention that I do not approve nor condone racism.

But I believe in the fact that everyone is created equally, and due to the fact of social situations things change. I do not believe that people are good or bad, but do good or bad actions. And they should be viewed accordingly.
I dont see people as a race ever. Its not how I was raised.

I live in canada, and quite frankly in the prairies. If you have ever lived in there, most of the racism is not based towards African americans but towards the First nations. This is due to many situation, poor economic standing and live on reserves which is tax free, Free education, free health care of ALL kinds. And some people feel they shouldn't get all that. {I believe they deserve all kinds of compensation.}And the fact that we do not have the history of abuse towards the african americans that lets say the USA has. But we do have a VERY abusive history towards the First nations. (Look into residential schools). So there is no real context for me to use the word "***" that I had used. Quite frankly until I started playing this game I had no idea that racism towards The african americans was so prevelant.

And the whole abos thing.

He WAS a big loser! WE had the teams stacked in ?go javduel. And we had an agreement to teamkill. Well we won by +15. But with 9 teamkills. The "winner" had 3 teamkills. rest of us had 2 each. Except abos. He had a whopping 0. Hence I was calling him "Big Loser".

I have no personal experience with abos. I have seen him around. Seems like a decent fellow. Dude if you are reading this, sorry for the typo, it wasnt meant the way it came out.

There you go. Now you have seen my personal views of people. and the situation leading up to the "typo".

I still agree with consequences of my actions. Irregardless if it was intentional or not. And will sit out my suspension with a clear mind knowing that even if it seems harsh, It is still the right decision to suspend me.

I remember being on staff and knowing that if you said the wrong shit to the wrong person you were gone, it wasn't about service or helping people it was stupid politics of a 2d spaceship game.

Well I always seem to do stupid things.

I have a history of unprofessionalism. And i DO typo often.

I often hit incorrect macros.
I once even did a *shipreset (shift+f7) during a dd. Instead of 'Team is at %coord %area (shift+f8) As soon as I did that, I contacted the nearest SMod. (I believe It was lefty) And I contacted Falk.

The shipreset had no bearing on the duel as it was done LITERALLY after the go. And no one was killed because of it. but it was an abuse.

And ofc if any one plays in my events. Im sure you have seen me use the wrong macro.

So quite frankly im sure this suspension is a long time coming. I could (should?) have been suspended before. Its a negligence issue rather than a intentional abuse. But the result is the same and I should be suspended for it.
