Well, good job quoting posts from weeks ago, because as I said several times, qan had made several(attempted) fixes since those two posts and I think most were under the assumption that it wasn't an issue anymore, as since the latest attempt, it hadn't crashed at all until last night.

And where did either of them say it was causing 'lag'? Please quote some of their posts where they said this.

Server recyles in TW are rarely done on purpose. There is something that is causing the server to recycle.

Distension has been causing the recycles lately (it has to do with sending/receiving too many packets at one time)

Due to the server crash, I now have sufficient proof that TWL is at risk.

To all distension players: The 10-12pm slot will not be hosted on sundays. It will not be rescheduled.

I do have experience with TW Servers in TW, they crash when buggy games are hosted.....

wow do you distension lovers even read posts, both qan maverick and dug all said distension was causing lag in tw and is now the reason why it wont be hosted on twl sundays. Read the posts before pretending distension does no harm to the zone, When all the bot coders have said it does.

The people you aren't replying to anymore, are the ones that were saying Distension is unstable and causing problems, and that's why they didn't want it interfering with TWL

you said they were wrong

Distension turns out to cause problems because it's unstable, staff decides not to host it because it would interfere with TWL

It's dumb for the OP's to go on strike if EVERYONE who plays is already complaining about distension not being hosted enough. Instead of hosting and trying to work with other staff on a better schedule, they just decide to not host at all, which only shafts the other distension players even more

Demands (more Distension schedules) aren't going to be met when the event is repeatedly shown to be unstable and cause server recycles

so the whole point of the strike before the big crashes yesterday were a moot point

um the entire point of a strike is to completely remove all productivity until the demands are met.

you don't think it's produtive because you don't care about distension. This is like when major league baseball or the NHL strikes-- i don't give two flying fucks about them, but they still strike because some people DO care.

I'm sorry to here that they're on strike, but who can blame them? They themselves are confused to the schedule BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T MAKE IT. All of the player are confused to the schedule.

I would assume they are striking because the schedule is shitty and it isn't followed. Also, it doesn't help that they are threatened with the ax if they host outside the correct time, which would be easy to do by accident if everyone is confused about the time slots. Also, the entire response by the non-distension players has been one of ignorance and hate, and a total lack of respect for the wishes and desires of what IS a large % of the zone now. Not to mention that some of the higher ups seem to be trying to sweep distension under the carpet.


I've said it many times before, if you have zero experience with the TW server (HTF, LB, kthx, even myself) maybe you could stop blaming distension for it's inadequecies?

Afterall, what do you think makes the better argument: MMaverick or Qan saying that the bot is unstable and causing lag/recycles or Wark and HTF saying it is? I'm inclined to listen to people with knowledge over people with loud parroting mouths.

I'm gonna do my best to keep this thread about the actual gameplay of distension, and not about whether it should or shouldn't be hosted. Like dako said, there are 3 other threads in which to flame the game, this one is for people who play it only.

So I'm not replying to wark or HTF in this thread anymore. I'm not replying to you, LB, unless you want to talk about how to play distension, or have suggestions on the gameplay aspects.

If you want to just argue with me, start up a trashtalk thread on distension. My replies along with stab's, tagmor's, viruk's, vehicle's and a few others are probably the only thing keeping these threads out of that forum anyway.

distension just caused another zone recycle, thought this was supposed to be fixed and not interfere with twd? can we please move this shit out of TW, because whenever distension is playing, the rest of TW only hears crickets. this IS twl time, arent we supposed to be promoting TWL...not distension?? this is probably the worst time to try and implement distension into TW, thought we were concerned with TWL competition decreasing. Stabwound made a post in the TWL section about how 'spastics main focus is no longer TWL' i mean....? isnt distension the anti-TWL? this makes no sense.

Well, yeah, I'm pretty sure it did recycle the zone twice earlier tonight, but that was supposed to have been fixed. I'd have to agree with not running it regularly until that's sorted out for good, because that's really not acceptable.

I know it's caused recycles before, but the problem is that fact has made some people blame EVERY problem on Distension, including the ones it couldn't possibly have had anything to do with... such as lag/bot issues that occur when Distension hasn't even been running for over 24 hours. That annoys the fuck out of me.

I completely agree with dwopple. No matter how "fun" distension is to some people, if it continuously makes the zone recycle it should be taken out or put in a new zone. I for one think that it is retarded and is beginning to discourage players from playing tw at all. i counted 3 recycles by the way. I'm sick of it
