Refusing to help

It's volunteer work but generally when you volunteer to do something you do something.

I mean I don't see many soup kitchen volunteers sitting around talking on their cell phones while homeless people line up for turkey on thanksgiving.

I would like to echo this sentiment 100x over. And then probably 100x more. The way I was raised is that if you agree to do something, compensated or not, you bust your ass and you do it 100%. I am going to speak for wark for a moment and say that he probably agrees with me on this. He even trolls @ 110%.

People on staff are needlessly promoted into positions where they are entrusted to do 1 thing. And even then they simply don't do their 1 thing very actively or effectively. We hire people that put in 2 months work and then promise to deliver some amazing project of revitalization and they work on that for the next 2 yrs and we never see it. But still they fill the space.

Here's an example for non-believers: The only 4 people who reached double digit hosts for TWDT were the following 4 people: Tres (30), Humid (22), Hack <ER> (19), BlackMage (14). 1 of those isn't even staff. During the time that this was being hosted there were constantly 4-6 mods and ERs speaking frequently on staff and other chats. Now I know they couldn't have been busy the entire time because the only staffer who was a cap was M_M and each player could only play 2 divisions, so they had enough time to host 1 at the very least. But as I was informed by one staffer, apparently 2 arena messages, 3 commands to a bot, and 1 roster check is too difficult to host.

If you volunteer to do something, then fucking do it. I don't care if you're paid or not. If you get tired, step down and let someone else who wants to work take your spot. If you aren't prepared to put in the hours, then don't volunteer...just like wark did.

In regards to vys I want to say a few words about him and about 10-12 people exactly like him.

You and that group of people will be the reason I stop running leagues and the reason I quit staff and likely the reason I quit this game. Every decision I make in regards to league that I publicly announce that you find in any way disagreeable will result in me receiving about 10-12 messages the next day informing me that: "you are the reason this game is dying". It happens every time without fail. Learn to show some respect to the people who dump hours of their days into giving you some entertainment and enjoyment. Or maintain your course and watch as the one thing you could always say "I was the best at" disappears because bright eyed people like me who work our asses off for YOU for FREE just fade away into obscurity.

Stabwound is a phenomenal staffer who did 5 yrs worth of TWD work that hadn't been done in about 4 months. His TWD team may not be the most active, but I commend what he has done with TWD. Also don't criticize Jacklyn, she is probably the most active and most friendly mod left. If you really think Jacklyn is worthless, then you have no grounds to speak about staff.

I've had two issues with you humid;
1. The resolution limit - I tried my upmost to explain to you how it will effect the game play and you kept asking for facts and proof. But there's no way of getting the facts you wanted. I could only offer you my years of knowledge and explanation of to why it will effect the game play, but that wasn't good enough for you.
And the other problem I had with you was when I was playing in a dd vs your squadron sk8. And because I was owning you guys, I was forced to reconnect. I had 0.4 c2s and 0.2 s2c and 130ms. I was well within the limits but I was forced to reconnect. And then you told me I was not allowed to play twdtd final because of my lag.
If my lag is that bad and effects the game so much, even though it's within the bot limits and then why don't you guys make stronger lag limits. Because I don't think it's fair to see dald with 230ms and staff letting him play with the lag. Don't have one rule for one and one rule for another.
And I do appreciate the work your doing humid, I just didn't agree with the res limit change in twl.
Personally, I think that arobas+ should be incharge of staff. The amount of work he puts into the zone and when someone has an idea, he's quick to put it into place. He also listens to a lot of peoples opinions and he's not so far up his own ass like a lot of you are. He'd also recruit staff he knows will do a good job and if they failed to succeed, I'm sure he'd axe them for the greater of the zone.

here's another suitable replacement for zizzo, BLACKMAGE. even though he pissed me off a bit by rejecting my appeal, hes done a great job in twdt, but he probably won't get hired, he has 'black' in his name.

actually vys, i was playing in that dd. your lag was way worse than that before you reconnected, although i wasn't concerned because of it as im used to playing against "laggots" (being one myself). if i recall right, your spike med was at roughly 35 -- which is pretty high, considering normal (read: non-laggy) players are at 2-5, and laggots at like 15-25.

wish they fixed that spike med limit already. you can play with over fucking 60 spike med in twjd now. basically you'll lag worse than an australian even if you are in europe with that lag and still not lagout. :P

Ive been around the Zone since 04 between various names etc Ive seen alot between staff and players alike and just wanna throw some shit out since it seems deemable this post is completely unbiased as most people dont know me and alot of you i dont care to talk to.

over the years Ive watched and read as staff has slowly burned its bridges with bad hires and even more terrible leadership but in all honesty whats the serious problem with you people even the players

Staff now for one cant be entirely blamed for some shit in regards to how they deal with certain players personally i wouldnt talk to alot of people or want to help any of them with the attitudes they bring upfront and im not even going to call them out its obvious they volunteered for a job and take nothing but bullshit from a player base that cant control their attitude most of the time anyways.

as for the players themselves wtf are you bitching about TWDT went through without to many issues just small shit people blew up for little reason that could of been settled easily with some respect TWL is going to happen for yet another year for you to get your Epeen going and TWD runs smoothly for the most part minus random bullshit about ops not helping this or that but tbh Draft directly if your going to be an asshole outright to them why would they help you ? they have a valid point there to not help you anyways though unprofessional as it may seems you did set yourself up for it moving on

Even though that is true staff should still atleast make a valid attempt to help when their job does fucking come up if 3 ops were online im pretty sure one of you could of sucked it up enough to help in regards to jacklyn being useless ive had her help me a few random times over the years and shes pretty reliable so i see those accusations as just 1 bad incident where she happened to be afk to not assist

Kthx is probably one of the best X staffers ive seen over the years when he was an ER he was damn good at it i never saw an event get fucked up like people have seen lately even though his way of presenting himself is at its best offensive to everyone he was a damn good staffer i mean fuck he ran Quicksand aswell for so long a squad consisting of almost every flaming wb in the fucking game so his attitude is needed anyways just to hold that shit together for so long if he would actually make some respectful posts and calmed down a bit he wouldnt be a bad guy overall.

Staff:

1. Listen to the playerbase and give feedback to them in a respectful manner you were hired to flex your muscle you were hired to help the zone

2. Answer help calls if you have the power to do something if you hate the person your helping then keep it professional and move on its really not that hard to do

3. Keep up the good work with TWD TWL TWDT and Hockey these things are keeping the game alive


Players in general:

1. Be fucking respectful to staff they volunteered for a job most people dont want the last thing they need is you bitching at them for the way they do things if you question their actions then bring it out without going OMFG X STAFFER IS FUCKING USELESS CAUSE THIS ONE TIME HE WAS AFK AND I NEEDED HELP AND BLAFJKDFLA;DFLKJDA;FDJKLFAJD;DFJKLDSA; ETC it really wont get anything accomplished anyways

2. Its a fucking game seriously have fun

3. Feedback in a respectful manner goes alot farther then making 400 topics for staff to delete where you bash them
