    1. allow them to make some map edits, then put the final version up...this is truly worthy of being a new pub map layout

    2. keep levis, disable private freqs -OR- allow a maximum of 5 frequencies? (either way keep levis, maybe 2 per freq so game doesnt get boring)

        Still a step in the right direction.

        I guess any more than that would cause too much lag, but that base layout is perfect for large amounts of players.

        I think once the tileset gets fixed and a few minor changes this might be the new face of tw public arenas, definitely a good decision by staff to finally do something about it, definitely a good decision by diakka for making a good map, and definitely a good decision to combine the two publics (hopefully the second pub will be closed down soon) to make sure that new players get to hop into TW and straight into some real public basing action.

          Also why can't we just add doors on 2/5 of the pub FR openings, and that way there are only 3 unless there are 40+ people playing in the arena or something. Sounds like an easy fix for that complaint.

            Agreed.

            Nightwasp should be brought in instead Weasel, given to the top player on each main frequency (freq 0 & freq 1) if possible OR make Weasel settings like the old Nightwasp.
            Levi limited to one per frequency, available to all frequencies including privates (if brought in permanently), this allows LT hunting still.
            Doors to extra entrances to mid/fr.
            Lastly, close second pub or like Kthx said, boot people into main pub because its rarely ever going to reach 50 people, but I would suggest a limit of 65.

            Most of these things I think have been pointed out before but just my two cents.

            EDIT: Tileset from Boki or Fatbase would be good.

                Enjoyed the pub, but rather see a better tileset an make decision then.

                Seems a lot of people agree with those options, especially the first one. I'm no different. The tileset is really hard on the eyes over here, and from the bit of it I did play, I can definitely see all of the entrances being a hassle to cover when the player count gets too low in there. Like at nights over here, when I usually get a chance to play this during the week.


                Apart from that, I really really love this pub map and kinda hope it gets to stay with, at the very least, a different tileset.

                  WHY IS THE GODDAMN RADAR BLUE!?!?!

                  But yeah other than the map wasn't bad. But i think it's a little too much like the current pub map you guys use... There's no new idea in this map.

                      Just like to say good job to Flared and Diakka for the improvements, had a little preview of it last night and i honestly couldn't think of anything else that could be added to it, apart from a tile at the bottom left of FR to make that jav shot abit harder.

                        well i couldn't really play on it as there appears to be a bug where on linux it gives a white background :/ well it certainly did on mine and all the other arenas where fine so whatever way this was installed in the lvlz files or how it was implemented is where the problem was

                        anyhow i'm all for trying out new maps ( like every other weekend or something ) but i'd like continuity for old players and also new players as well so if they decide to get into TWDB it's great to have the base familar to them. For that reason i'm against any permanent change to the basing map.

                          Being a newb and all I have to ask .... wtf is the "Nightwasp" exactly? I hear about it occasionally in the game but being told "oh it's a special ship #9" or something else equally useless doesn't really explain anything about it.

                          Even without knowing wtf the ship is, it seems more like something to add to the pub money feature (if dexter does that again) so that everyone could try it at some point - even if it were some obnoxious amount of money. I never play pub enough to even hope to get to the top points for a freq. And even if I were in there that much I still wouldn't get enough points. lol.

                            (the new new map is the blueish one uploaded quite recently)

                            I don't like the new new map at all, it's even worse than the new map was. I don't like the fact that so many of the basic ideas from the old map has been taken away. Namely:

                            1) One flagroom and sections to "conquer" on the way to flagroom. With so many entrances the base has been reduced to just flagroom. The good thing about the flagroom is that it's bigger and make room for more players. The really bad thing is too many entrances, it's a joke.

                            2) Trench wars means trenches and potshots. I've been robbed of roofing with this new new map and its tiles so close to the few holes on roof and I've been robbed of defending midbase. What is the purpose of eliminating roofing? It's a valid strategy to hit the enemy from behind. As it is now if you can't conquer flagroom from the front you cannot get the terr(iers) at all. Less strategy is bad.


                            The new new map has too many obstacles in base (blocks have been added on the way to flagroom for instance).

                            Levis suck. Plain and simple. Get rid of, or remake, that disgusting ship, please.

                            For the last few months (since my return) I've used to play from 1 hour to many hours a day in pub and only pub. Since this new map got added I've played less than 2 hours because most of what was fun in the old map has been taken away. /rant

                                Must be, and the nightwasp used to be the shark I think as ship 8. It had cloak and some other crap.
