i think the banner allready looks much better without the +'s

you could always check out some hubble pics as they are real and impressive ^_^

one thing i never got with the forums is there seems to be no easy link back to tw.org at the top.

well shit, that's odd. the first button in my navbar is "Home" and it links to tw.net. anyone else not seeing this button? i'll have to look into it.

Need to compact the "Like/Dislike" panel, it adds way too much extra space.

Other than that it is fantastic!

all of the old smilies were designed for use on a light colored background. if you try to put them up on a dark background you get this:



see the "white halo" effect surrounding the smilie? it's fugly. the only way to get all of the old smilies back is to manually go through each and every one of them and fix the halo. it's a painstaking process and it'll take awhile. so just be patient.

btw cres, i see you were trying to post a "cry" pic. fyi, there's a few cry smilies now. type cry, cry2 or bigcry with :: around it.

so i think i'm done tinkering with the likes/dislikes system. this is about as streamlined as i can get it. it's much less obtrusive now. the buttons themselves are integrated into each post box and the +1's and -1's are displayed directly below each post box on a single line.

i hope to eventually integrate everything right into the post box for each post, however, this is simply a HUGE pain in the ass given the current structure of the add-on. there's supposedly a new version in the works which will allow for this, but to do it now would mean a shit ton of php code to edit in a shit ton of template files. :undecided:


edit: just realized that i need to tweak the styling of the likes/dislikes system for both the vb4 default and darkness styles. they use different templates, and as such, don't currently reflect the new changes i just made for the Illuminati theme. doh! i'll get around to it asap.

i didn't have as much time as expected to put into the header, so that's still a work in progress.

my next major usability tweak will be to adjust the spacing and contrast for the thread listings. right now, new posts kinda blinds you, and thread listings in general seem a bit too cramped.

can u put a limit on how many times people dislike posts? say like.. 5 likes and 3 dislikes every 6 hours? or remove the notifications for them?. . .

I'd rather not get spammed with "Crescent Seal has disliked your post: <link>"

edit: think i fixed it and notifications are now off.

edit 2: yep, it's fixed. no more notifications when someone likes or dislikes your post!

edit 3: and with that, i'm done for tonight. keep letting my OCD get the best of me. i could sit here all night tweaking and fixing bugs.

right okay i've no clue whats going on ... it's another unimportant trivial issue but when i log in this disappears . i dont care about that but if you are trying to hone web design skills or just curious i'll give the info i can.

I run linux (currently Linux mint 11-rc) and tried this in firefox4 & google chrome web broswers

i see the home button logged out but logged in it disappears, here is 2 browsers open at the same time one logged in one not

pd, i'm about 99% sure i know exactly what's going on. if i recall correctly, the same problem was occurring on the test forum, and i had to adjust the template for the add-on we're running which allows us to add new tabs to the navbar. lemme poke around for a minute.
