fat wzl has been universally hated every time some knucklehead has had the bad idea of bringing it back
thats why small wzl has been a fixture ever since dock> put it in 15 years ago

the only thing fat wzl does is stop the ppl complaining about late round flag touches



a far better idea is to reinstate small wzl with lv2 guns, cloak/stealth/xradar, no specials, and slower spd/thr with drastically reduced afterburners

Those late touches kept the game going longer + kept terrs\ people defending base on edge- surely this was a good thing? Can't happen with a large weasle hense why I'm confused about this change.

Ops cant rely heavily on polls, whats the margin for error with 15/500 voting?

Surely it couldn't be more error prone than the decision making process they've currently instated.

Just a simple prompt when entering the game and a !vote yes !vote no, would be pretty comprehensive I reckon.

Ya it really sounds simple as that. I invite you to join staff for a few months and rank up to get some alias powers and a deeper insight into how some members of our community perfectly know how to evade punishments, sabotage every kind of poll or voting and do a lot of other bs that prevents a clean player feedback. Additionally in the past (like on the LT discussions) we had lots of people who never ever visit pub and staffs who didn't even know what the current pub settings are as they sit in leagues or other places or are inactive for years, but still vote on pub changes. Lots of them claimed they would play pub if the LTs were restricted to L2 bombs. I have yet to see them there now. Due to this situation I personally think the long and painful way of really discussing with pub players in the game, collecting opinions and looking at effects on gameplay is the only way to really make a decision that can improve the game and I invite everyone who really wants to improve the game to apply to staff and help steering this game.

We have a staff who is supposed to have a vision, based upon the mission statement of the zone, of what the zone should and shouldn’t be. We also have to assume that bkgmjo is correct about staff having better insight into how players behave.
TW is not a democracy, we are guests playing a freely accessible online game. If anyone doesn’t like this, do as bkgmjo states, join staff, spend hundreds of hours making the zone better, and implement change once you have the respect and influence to do so. But posting a few noisy posts and thinking that a pubic poll is a good way to determine the zone’s direction is simply naïve.

Any "vision" that staff has based on the mission statement SHOULD be based around the general public consensus. Because the truth of the matter is that half of these staff fgts dont even leave spec or even play the respective areas of the game that they have a hand in moderating. The mentality of having to join staff to see change is ridiculous because they only accept sheep for one thing. Just look at the recent steam events. It took Turban literally years to become a Sysop and he basically had to single handedly push for the steam project to even happen or it would have gone stagnant in the hands of other upper staff members. People shouldn't have to go through the garbage corrupt staff structure we have in place to get shit done. Thats not efficient or even viable considering the expiration date this game has. I understand that being a staff member is a voluntary job, but in the end you are still serving the community. Either you make changes the community wants to see and actually do your job, instead of taking advantage of it just to power trip like a mallcop, or you quit. Its simple as that.

And a poll taken in USA in 1776 would have reflected that slavery was fine. Or a poll of German people in 1942 that showed overwhelming support for the Nazi’s. Was that common sense at work? And I am sre that if you polled many players, they would vote for free beer and hot naked female staffers who would cyber them. Does that mean this is what the zone should do?

There is not any more whining today about the weasel going back to the original settings then there was when it was first made small. Is that common sense?

Show me where TW is supposed to be a democracy. Show me where a typical player in pub can even demonstrate a long term perspective or vision for the zone. Sure we all have opinions; but please demonstrate how a player who simply makes a few posts and/or threatens to quit has this kind of understanding.

These forums allow players to post their opinions; nothing wrong with that. But the isn’t a ‘squeaky wheel gets the oil’ solution. Players opinions matter, but only to some extent. TW is more like a military organization, foot soldiers don’t get to ‘vote’ on how they are going to take the next hill. We trust the leaders to mind the overall objectives of the zone and to keep it on course.

I made no statement regarding the efficacy or quality of the current staff. If anyone doesn’t like the staff, the only real solution is that they can work to change it. But throwing out a few flames in the forum isn’t ever going to work.

Worried about the accuracy and veracity of a public poll that has to last a few days? Just PM everyone online right now with a simple yes or no question and use the results as a barometer of public opinion. Sure the vote won't involve everyone but it'll have enough people to provide a snapshot of what people think.
