I dunno, being a zone helper seems like a fun job. For some people, their ultimate goal is staff anywhere, not just mod.

zone helper to me seems the best, you dont have to host, and you get to meet alot of people and help them out in the process, it helps teach you more about the game and that saying ez, leet, newb all the time doesnt make you friends

I agree. Jason would make a quality staffer.

Slf and rinse, everyone has a different opinion of what they enjoy more on staff. I personaly didnt mind being <ZH>, but i know i enjoy'd hosting what i could 100 times more then taking any help call. I know there are others that feel that way, and there are simply some ppl better fit to be a <ZH> weather they know more about the game, or they got better ppl skills or can explain something better then another. There are multiple things that go into the process. I know that some ppl are better fit being in a differnt spot in staff.

And as for ppl not wanting "teh ultimate goal...mod", if u think that isnt true ur almost stupid. 95% of ppl who want/get staff are there to get Mod+. When ur mod u get to take help calls, u get to take cheater calls, u can even host if u want to. In mod u can do everything the same as <ZH>/<ER>+ more, not to mention u dont have to wear a tag behind ur name. It is what most everyone wants, yet most ppl arent qualified for the job even if they were on staff for years.

As for jason being <ZH>, i think we should give him his <ER> back.

What cig said is true, almost every staff wants Mod, a lot of them deserve it like lnx. Everyone to me was like dim when ya want mod? and to be honest i didnt really want it, I had all I needed and I enjoyed hosting, perhaps it would be better to do that and not just try to work your way up the food chain by hosting enigma.

I pulled one of those "fly up through the ranks to mod." Being a mod, at least back in my days as a staffer, meant you got to be lazy. That was under a different administration though. With PUSHER running the show, staff is going to shape up. We're going to start seeing the right people moved up, and the wrong people axed. PUSH knows what the fuck is up, and I trust him more than anyone to put together the best staff this zone has seen in a long time. Am I kissing PUSH's ass? No. I just happened to have talked to him in-game about his plans as Dean of Staff. I love what he has in mind and know he's both responsible and dedicated enough to make shit happen.

As for me being an ER, yeah, that'd be pretty sweet. I'm sure most people would say I'm not qualified for either ZH or ER. Both take people skills, and we all know mine are rusty. I am competent though, and if you ask me, competency comes before anything else. To be a ZH, you need to have knowledge of the zone, the client, and it really doesn't hurt to have a wealth of useless knowledge either. I know I've sent in ?help calls that weren't necessarily related directly to the game plenty of times. To be an ER, you really just have to have a solid understanding of the particular event you happen to be hosting. Again though, as I said before, both require a certain level of people skills. In my opinion though, people skills doesn't just mean being overly nice to others. It also requires you to be articulate and proffesional (professional to the extent a SubSpace "job" requires).

                And's that's my $0.02 on the subject.

PUSH doesn't know what's going on with every staff member.
(This is not a fight to get back on staff, it's not worth it for me to fight getting back on).
Let's take ME for example. I was axed based on my inactivity of January, by Pusher. Sure, that's fine... but because he had JUST come back, he hadn't read all the news on the newsgroup. I had clearly stated that I would NOT be active all of January. Pure_Luck knew of this, and if I were to come on any time in January, it would be on my non-staff name.

So February pulls around, I'm still a bit busy with work, but I'm getting on, I host a couple events, I answer questions. I get a message from Pusher telling me I'm too inactive (even though the following couple days had been I was picking up my staff activity because I had a HUGE work load taken off of my shoulders). I talk to Luck, but after a while he just ignores me (like he always does).

My point is, it's not so much that I, being USUALLY active, but inactive for a month (with an excuse and an approval of absence), but some of the people that were put there to replace me. I had been on some of January, and I can view the result hits on trenchwars.org for staff members, and I can clearly tell you, that some of these ZHs do not deserve YET an ER place. Not only will they hardly host (and have hardly hosted), but they didn't even do an above average job as a ZH.

Now, I'm not condemming PUSHER, I think his ideas are great ones, we sure DO need an active staff! I just think, perhaps he took action a little too fast? Now, I'm not saying this with any bias, as I'm not mad about losing my position really, but perhaps PUSHER should have taken a spectator position for a couple of weeks, talked to Pure_Luck a LITTLE more, before heading into action.

Even though Pusher has booted out a lot of people I think some of those people have added to the general arguments, complaints and rumors that made TW staff seem unprofessional.... and for lack of a better term stupid. (Yes, I'm not on staff chat but you can really get a sense of it without).

His ideas as far as being the Event coordinator are pretty good. Making a team dedicated to developing and updating events is excellent.

I think staffers are getting "upped" way to soon. Nowadays you can make mod in like 3 months or something, whereas for me and M_M it took what, 1½-2 years?

Ya Da1 thats another thing, certain ppl fly rite through it if they know the rite ppl. Then others are held back for certain reasons. I think it shouuld take over a year for neone to get mod, unless they are absolutuely in need some some, but i dont think that all members should be held at <ER> for that long of time, ppl automaticaly take <ER> bc it makes them get mod faster. Let certain ppl stay at <ZH> yet get mod faster then some <ER>'s if they deserve it. Like i said b4, certain staff are better in certain areas. I myself cant speak for any staff member, but i myself can see which <ER> is good @ <ER> and which <ER>'s would be better @ <ZH>. IF i can tell, im sure 95% of the population can to.
