Im sure in a few months when TWL gets closer you'll have the euro squads (mambo, BC, Inc, Diso, Sk8) getting alot more active in basing, and you forget pallies are still on vacation. Once they start gettin back online im sure they'll usualy have enough to base vs u. I think the biggest problem is there are more euro basing squads then American ones, so u guys dont see the others.

I don't think basing gets boring, really.. Most of the times it's always something new. The only boring BD's are the ones that ur enemy REALLY cant keep up with u, and you win 15:00-0:20. That's boring.

Another thing is that there are 3 really good basing squads, and the others are just weak, or they are just average. Alot of sqds are afraid to lose pts so dont DD the top 3 sqds. So those 3 are only fighting eachother over and over again.
Another thing is that you need alot of people on your roster, all skilled in 1 certain different ship. You can't start playing a bd when you have 5 ppl on, 4 spids and 1 jav. You need to have every ship online which is making it hard to BD alot, cuz it rarely happens that they are all represented online.

On this ladder it's obvious that atm there are actually only 2 good basing sqds. Who are sky high ranked, compared to the others.

I agree with Fit's reply to this post. Why on earth would squads like Pallies want to play any TWBD games. I mean they have already qualified for the next TWLB season.
The TWDD and JD ladders might be quite correct (I dunno, just an asumption), but because the amount of games played, the TWBD ladder just lies.

Pallies has played one game and won it. Spastic has played 84 and lost 11.
So pallies has won 100% of their games
Spastic has won 87% of their games

Ok so it's naive to think like that too, but you get the point I hope. The ladder doesn't represent the actual skills of the basers. I'm not saying Spastic is bad, it's just that I have no doubt that Pallies might have just as many points if they had played 83 games more.

there is a simple way: start to pick the unknown ppl in ?go base. u guys brought this on yourself for a part. u guys nvr give the new ppl a chance to play, always picking the same ppl & now u guys wonder "how comes that basing is not popular". how can thoes new ppl know how it feels to base?

And some ZH's always pick the same caps & thoes caps pick the same ppl etc etc. a nvr ending circle.

The whole point of ?go base is that it's an opportunity to play high-quality games even if there is no TWL season going on, I think. I usually pick one less known player as my last spider, but if I'd pick 8 newbs (or just a newb terr/shark) the game would be like ruined.

?go pub if you want to play with people who don't know how to play. That's what I think.

What if my squad has 8 good players online at the same time a max of 1 time per week, and withut scheduling we could never have our top-8 playing.

In ?go base, at peak hours, there are always 16 really really really good players to pick. Players that play good no matter what team they are put in with.

yea it's naive stupid to expect the good players to be ignored in ?go base for the betterment of the trench wars community.

instead, maybe those good players who are in base 24/7 could span out to pub arenas. or maybe they would play more hosted basing events.

I have a feelin this is gonna get ugly ... but ... who are u to comment about basing when u don't even try it. At least some of us basers are gettin more and more involved in wbing and javving ... enuf to make opinions based on some experience. And btw Kim, u aren't picked in go base bc u're never there! i NEVER EVER have seen u play there (aliases don't count) ... not once.

The main problem still hasn't been solved, and that problem is that Basing is the only division of TW that doesn't have a way that you can just jump into it and get better. You can play jav in pure pub or play hosted basing games until the cows come home, and you're never going to really GET how to play and get better at base/TWBD/TWLB without actually playing them. Ok, you can practice spider and maybe terr pretty easily in pub, but if you never actually get into the basing community, there is really no point.

The only real solutions are:

To create a base equivilent to elim/baseelim.
To start letting new players play in ?go base.
To start recruiting newer players to our already established squads.

A couple people brought up the fact that people just do not want to lose, and will only pick people that they know will perform. This is true. Maybe if both captains could come to a mutual decision to both pick 1 new player per game, it would really help the base community. I agree that if there are inactive squads, they could try recruiting new people from pubs, but that is a pretty hard thing to do since a lot of pubbers really have no idea how to base at all. Even then, it's retarded that we should have to "train" new people to be able to play base, when in the other 2 leagues, people can just get better themselves without anyone's "permission".

Um... maybe because it's... FUN? Does your squad only play TWD games for leagues that they want to qualify in? This is really a stupid comment, unless you for some reason consider TWBD to be a "chore".
