Yeah, obviously if we change it to timerace nobody will kill anyone, everyone will just race to the flag and not do anything for 30 minutes.

i think i voted for point race but just a thought to consider about point racing vs. regular timed: in point race the idea of spider MVP is somewhat downplayed. i know that the MVP for spider would still be the one with most kills or best ratio or whatever it's set to now but it's hard to get high numbers of kills in point race which means people like evo and those other kill hogs might not break 200. don't know if that's already been said but i'm not gonna read all 4 pages of this thread just to find out. but overall i think point race is a more fair way to play. it cuts out those cheap losses that you sometimes get because a time hides at the end of the game when they're winning.

basing isn't just about the flag, if it was you wouldn't need weapons or repels, you could just have 16 people sitting on top of it and seeing who gets it the most.

Rand is rite, with time race its not about killing or even bty/points. Those things have NOTHING to do with it. its a whole different thing then what basing was for. Atleast point race has the same basic jist as what it was made to be. Time race isnt nething like basing really except it has the same ships in teh same map. Bounty and amount of kills use to be very important, u get more points with higher bty, u get more points with more kills and so on. I just think Time race is to far fetched from the point of basing. Keep it regular or point race.

Still seems stupid to hold a poll for somethuing that really dont matter. Im with lunch, this is equal poll keep it.

What the people think isn't always best. I am sure there will be alot of screaming about games that need to be voided for different reasons upcoming season. And the league ops should try to find a game that is appealing, controlable and as flawless as possible.
If you would only use this poll as guideline you could conclude that it doesn't matter to the people wether you use timed games or pointrace. Then as league op you could say: hmm the chance of people exploiting flaws in the old game is very low, so there is no reason in changing. Or: I don't want any people go crazy at my referees because a team hiding in the last 5 minutes.

Too bad timerace can't be implemented this TWL, I think it's a better format.
Randedl I didn't know you gave that much about base in the first place, but most old players thought that cramming totally ruined basing anyway. Timerace gives the attacking team the oppurtunity to put more pressure on the defending team. The increasing deathrate wich comes with that will not lead in being milked. I don't know how many timeraces you played, but other than them ending faster than normal games there is no real difference in gameplay.

It is different bc it is a different format. U no longer go for most points, or most kills. The most important thing is the flag. WHich it is still important in all types of baseing, but in time race its even MORE important then killing, more important then points. I think basing was built on having the most points to win, i think it should continue to be the same. Although if u win timed race u'd prolly have more points neway, i think the win should be determined by points not how long u held flag in a FR fight.

The importance of having the flag isn't any bigger than with timed game because you don't get much points without it.

ya but im sure u'd much rather ur jav take the chance at shooting/killing the terr then grabbing the flag in a FR fight. With this flag time it'd clearly be better to grab the flag since every secound counts. IM sure having a few secounds of killing w/o flag (in pnts race) wont kill u that much if u end up killing the enemy team. Where those few secounds could come back to haunt u then in the Flag time game.

I like time race personally.....u should have made an option C. Its completely prevents hiding, b/c if they get a lead in the other 2 types of games they can just go hide and not get killed and still win. Thats why i love the new time race bots in ?go base

I like timerace over pointrace, but would prefer the old system over both of them. But I can see how they want to try something different too.
