I'm sure some of the older players like Epi / disqualifier / 2d / fiery could tell you which of those players in those champion squads were key and deserve to be inducted into the hall of fame. Just because you're on a winning team doesn't mean you deserve the Hall of Fame credation. However inductees can be awarded by other means than skill, such as captaincy, team-player, or publicly loved (rare in TW) for their time.

For example, TWLJ Season 8 winner: wbm LOL

Here's an idea for an MVPish award for the end of the year.

After each game, the ref notes down the three players they think contributed most to the match, with points 3, 2, 1.

The players picked might not be the highest scorers, they might be the warbird that got a few quick kills on the opponent to knock them out (shifting the balance of the game in their favour), the jav who does a 3fer at a critical time in a l-j, or the shark who manages to get a tek at a critical time in the match. OR the recipient of a place might not be on the winning team, it might be the guy who gets 20-10 for his team whilst the rest get 3-10's.

At the end of the season, all the votes from all the matches are tallied and the players with the highest points get your LD,LJ,LB mvps. Having the refs dish it out (and keeping it secret till the end) ensures there's no bullshit that was associated with the TWL allstars last season and most of all, ensures that only players who actually contribute and play games get notice.

(How many people voted for brookus for terr allstar without having seen him play a game? *cough* *cough*)

      Cheers,

      leroy.

It is the limit of your mind's capacity. The circle around the dot is everything that you don't know - but you know that it exists. And the rest of the paper is everything that you didn't even know that you'd never know - that exists or has the potential to exist.

I think more than just players should be honoured too, lets give Myth and Pusher the due they earned.

EDIT: this is also useful for players who may not win a title, but deserve to be up there for carrying a lesser team.

True, like Ronaldo for TWLD in -F-. I don't think he played one game in twld, yet it has his name on the champions box. But the point was it still shows the contributors names in those arenas, their names will always be stored. So I think thats still pretty good recognition.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad idea. I just think its hard to say who deserves to go where. Because a lot of peoples opinions could be biased, etc.

Players who haven't won championship but have made there mark should be considered just as players who have been on a winning team but havent contributed should not be considered. I'm sure there are players out there who have never won a title but definately deserved one(mythrandir in terr). that doesn't mean he shouldn't be considered in the HoF.

Also, players who were instrumental to the development of styles of play and popularity of leagues should also be considered (Old school diso/pallies basers, etc...).

Choosing who gets accepted shouldn't be left exclusively to the elitists who have picked the same players on the same squads(with different titles), but by the players who have experienced all aspects of the game.

If i were to choose a committee who inducts players, I'd want the following players overseeing it.

The Pusher, Rule, Epinephrine, and Brookus. I'm sure there could be other candidates, but these guys seem to cover the three leagues, as well as covering different personality styles. I know pusher isn't around anymore, but i couldnt think of someone as versatile to take his spot. Maybe Pauloakenfold, or Divine Rides, or nickname, or one of the caps from the diso of the past 4 years.

That post was mostly based on picking players from the past to be inducted, if you're choosing from todays brand of players, clearly you'd want some more updated/active/involved players to be deciding

i like the idea, but it's going to be tough to stay below 100 players and imo it shouldn't become a huge list..

It definitely shouldn't become a large list. As I said, anywhere from 0-5 a season seems reasonable. We have the twl championships, all-star game, and game mvps, we don't need to go crazy. When Dabram gets in the HoF, it's one player too large :P

Probably should be done once a year; players should be inducted based on the skill and general involvement in TW. I actually thought about this earlier, but I thought I'd get flamed at by putting it out. Anyways yeah, great idea.

A HoF would be cool tho. Aslong as you guys put together comments about the player and how they were significant enough to be put into the Hall. If it ends up just being a list of names then thats pretty lame.

good suggestion there leroy - this seems fair because you really give merit to those good and honourable players in lesser squads aka Plade. It also removes the likely prospect of the same people (aka sika, merce, rough, ease) being voted in everytime which is boring and inaccurate.
