Max Resolution for TWL

what are u doing about the max resolution? Will u rise it up or just leave as its atm?

Why put a max resolution limit for TWLB? It doesnt make sense for me...

People can gain unfair advantages by abusing their nVidia graphics card to alter their screenres into an obscure 1440x1024 resolution.

Furthermore, in TWLD it benefits players more to have widescreen since the ARENA is a rectangle and not a square.

1440x900 is disadvantageous for radar battles because of its rectangular nature. It's also less total pixels than the original one. Finally, the most deadly shots are those that are fired vertically, which makes it a real problem for 1440x900 user. If it's a fast, thrustshot or a good momentum shot, it's basically undodgable for such user.

The core lies in the total amount of pixels, not the orientation itself, since both have many flaws listed in other threads. My concern is that it is pointless to prac TWD with widescreen resolution, given that TWL restricts that option. Let the users have a choice between 1280x1024 and 1440x900, ban 1440x1024. If somebody users greater than these resolutions, say 1600x1200, he has an option to evaluate on merits and flaws of both and make a choice by ticking 'windowed mode'.

Lastly, consider changing the arena into a square or rotate the current one by a right angle. I don't care as long as I can play TWL on res I prac TWD with.

I would hope that staff would make sure that TWL is 1280x1024 max and should probably just make TWD that again also so we don't have to listen to veetee cry later.

My laptop does 1440x900 max, so I cannot adjust to 1280x1024, or I would never cry. If it gets changed back in TWD, I will simply just stop playing.

I'm using a widescreen and I think it sucks that I can't play this game at fullscreen anymore. This is how I am forced to play the game now:

When I play in arenas that lets me play with a widescreen res I change simply because I focus better when the game is the only thing filling my screen. If I use a non widescreen resolution then the image will get somehow distorted and this is very bad for my aim, so this is not an option either.

So keep in mind that right now the widescreen users has the disadvantage, but most of you won't care because as long as it isn't yourself, you don't care.

Still don't know why people are against the WS resolution cause nVidia people can use their drivers to enable 1440 x 1024.

Like I said:

Just make a bot do *info on everyone who enters an arena with this limit, check the resolution and kick out people with 1440 x 901+

Or 1281+ x 1024.. Anyways you get the idea, which ever way it would work out to block those nVidia abusers.

We've seen the Widescreen doesn't really give any 'unfair' advantage to those who use it, against those who've stuck with the 1280 x 1024.

I dont think the resolution make advantages..

and I use 19" widescreen (here in brazil they doesnt sell a non-widescreen monitor anymore) and I cant use less than 1440x900 or it'll be out of focus (dunno how to speak it in english lol)

well would you look at that, he's on widescreen, getting the same number of pixels as us non-widescreeners, and his computer isn't melting and the world as we know it isn't ending

anyway i personally don't see a problem with allowing 1440x900 but i can say with certainty that 1440x1024 won't be allowed, you're either getting 160 pixels of width or 124 pixels of height, go fuck yourself if you want both

i'll run this issue by the rest of the ops and hopefully have something in stone within the next day or two
