There needs to be some extra measure (through a bot or by the host manually) to prevent people from using 1440x1024 (or 1440x1023, 1439x1024, etc..) To allow 1440x900 and 1280x1024 the arena limit needs to be set at 1440x1024. This is done in TWD and there are several (I won't mention any names) who are using 1440x1024 in TWD now since there is nothing stopping them from doing so.

Actually he's on 1280x986 not 1280x1024 which is less pixels. That is what happens when you select 1280x1024 on windowed mode but your desktop resolution is 1680x1050.

I'm in the same boat as Noah, and it is a huge pita, alternatively i play fullscreen and it is "stretched" and looks absolutely horrible.

i want a res that i can use properly, not some res from the stoneage. its two thousand fucking nine for christs sake. 1280x1024 = res from ten years ago.

you know, it's unbelievably sad when i can't just trust players to follow a simple rule in a free game

but i guess winning a championship is worth abusing every loophole you can find, since a good 75% or so of the titles since i started watching twl have had some sort of controversy surrounding them

whatever, i'll look into some sort of res regulation but if we can't get it done then we'll just have to deal with people who won't think twice about cheating the system in order to achieve spaceship victory

Listen... I have a widescreen LCD monitor too... do I bitch about using 1440x900 res? Fuck no. I bought a widescreen that uses every res, not just widescreen ones. Its their fault for buying shitty monitors and shitty laptops that can't use normal 4:3 resolutions. It is that simple.

I also have a nvidia graphics card, so if I want to I can cheat and use the 1440x1024 res too. Do I do it? No, I don't.

Fix this shit, because you catered to all the whiners and bitchers of TW while fucking over the players that don't feel the need to complain about it. Simple as that.

Why don't you just raise the res limit to 1680x1024 then and have the other retards play on their precious 1440x900.

They can play on 1280x900 so fuck them. I have to play on 1280x1024 while they get to use a special res made just for them? Bad move.

Darkmoor, think a bit more seriously. 1440 x 1024 isn't a normal resolution, however you see it. nVidia people have the advantage, and the resolution limit isn't supposed to be 1440 x 1024 but 1280 x 1024 or 1440 x 900. TWL is more serious than "most arenas", so it's more important to strictly limit it to what it was supposed to be.

It can also then be adopted to the "most arenas" when implemented into TWL (bots/arena).

consider this a friendly reminder that i am not obligated to run this league, i can walk away from this position and this game with a clear conscience right now and watch everyone run around like chickens with their heads cut off

anyway, again, it's tough to police resolutions in this game because of the retarded way configurations work but i assume something can be done about it since resolutions can be seen in pubstats

and fuck you abusive nvidia assholes for making this exponentially more difficult than it needs to be, if an automated resolution checker can't be implemented and i find out you're still using 1440x1024 in my league i will not hesitate to throw your ass out of it for blatantly disregarding the rules, you will follow them or you will not play

Having a limit of two different resolutions in a game like this is not feasible. This should be even more obvious in a serious league as you call it. Therefore it would be best to have just one like it was with 1280x1024 everywhere, but now it is ruined because some widescreen whiners went berserk and now here we are bickering about it.
