Noadays there are many fairly good players in every ship and also many good players who can play diff ships. To me the biggest sign of a great player is consistency ... in any ships. Any one can have a great game once in awhile, however, very few ppl can consistently give a good effort.

This may or may not be a popular opinion, but I think that the best players right now are the best players of all time. People always bring up utopia, and sometimes smack man as best "all time" but since I started basing, things have changed a LOT and the skill level has risen a lot, I doubt those guys, even in their prime, could hang with the likes of warportal/myth or pearl jam/nockm.

That's like saying Run DMC (great in their time) could hang with eminem in a rap battle.

If we had to make an all-time list, let's take people, all time at their peak performance, giving extra consideration to those who achieved for long and consistant periods of time, and achieved where it counted (i.e. people who were good for one part of one season I'll leave out)
