You're against two people unrelated to you and not harming you in the least getting married? No. It means you're pro-telling people what to do. You don't have the right, George Bush doesn't have the right and that's why that unconstitutional gay marriage amendment failed miserably. Abortion? Well golly gee people should be forced to have every child that they get impregnated with again even though they're totally unrelated and not harming you or your own children, simply because you want to see lots of children that have had their lives screwed up from day one, right?

You shouldn't try to force every person in our society to live by your rules and goals. Think of a free society, and imagine what your stranglehold of laws will accomplish. Gay people will still live together and fuck, your anti marriage law will just keep them from legal protections and observance. Your anti-abortion law, will not stop abortions, people will simply have unsafe back alley abortions or go to another country if they can afford it. The real world is not so simple as "I don't agree with that, so there should be a law."

BZ, once again, bush is no superhero. He could only do what all of us can. It's nice that we can look back and think we could have done better than him, but it was stressing. And besides, you say he "stared" at the childrens book then say he was "reading" it- now you can't tell me you've never sat down and thought about something while staring at an object you've picked up, or something. I mean, for all we know, he was in shock. It's his first few months of presidency and that happens? Now, why would he stand up and know what to do?
