See.....this is why Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents in recent years...We have guys like George Bush who use religion to back most of his decisions (still boggles my mind how he can not justify the killing of Fetus' who have not yet entered Earth.....and be against the marriage of gay's....but he fully supports the killing of ppl in Iraq....kinda Hypocritical) and then we've got John Kerry....who is soooooooooo lame ("America I salute you!......and "I defended this country as a young man, and I'll defend it as president!") Everything he says is a stupid unthoughtout Catchphrase.....he is not a man of his own word....he is a man who reads what his writer's have to say.....Bill Clinton was Smooth.....aside from the whole Affair thing....Bill Clinton managed to fix the economy which Bush SR. wrecked before leaving office....and to keep foreign affairs relativly peaceful.....He was the only president I've ever seen that could talk you out of ure opinion (thats not saying much cuz ive only seen three presidents).....the man was utterly brilliant....he knew that the best place to be was not to the right....not to the left.....but in the middle....and that is where Bill Clinton lived.....and until we have someone as smart and just plain good at being president....as Mr. Clinton......We will not be the country we once were

It seems that you're talking about kerry's democratic convention speech. Of course he had a bunch of catch phrases, and he started to get annoying with the viet nam references, but overall, I thought it was a great speech. He came out strong and he let us know where he stands on a lot of issues. Also, he NEEDS those catch phrases because that's all the average american hears.

Where I come from your degree is in engineering not liberal arts. The point of what i was saying was why do people need to get a degree that they will not be using at all? THere should be a general degree that says you took college classes and passed. If you aren't gonna use it why waste the time taking it?

See above. I don't think that it's about people being lazy and not wanting to work, it's about equal treatment for all sectors of the working class, not just white collar. Hell, I'm white collar and I can see that. Do you want to obtain your own water?

I am referring to the welfare enrollees who continue to pop out babies and live off my taxpaying money while doing nothing. They should be penalized for getting pregnant after being on welfare. Get their tubes tied while they are on it. And people should stop blaming the white man for everything, racism ain't gone but it isn't as prevelant as people want to make you believe. Hell I have seen reverse racism more than anything.

That's fine. You don't have to have one. However, give people who are in a bad situation the right to choose. There are extenuating circumstances that a lot of people miss in the whole abortion issue. I'm not a woman and neither are you, so let's cut the crap and let people be adults and make their own decisions.

Thousands of people sit on waiting lists to adopt a child, when and if that line ever ran out then maybe abortions could be looked at as an alternative. In my opinion.

like I said, I am a person, not a party. I hold my own opinions. Yes I lean conservative but doesn't mean I can't disagree. I just don't see how this issue affects me in anyway, and since i vote selfishly (as already stated) it's a moot point.

Are you moving around a ton of stuff every day? Chances are, probably not. Euros have it right here, folks. We Americans are desperately dependent on having our own cars, and when it comes right down to it, there are very few of us that really need an SUV for daily activities. Need to move some large stuff around occasionally? Rent a car. In the long run, it's probably less expensive to do it that way anyways. Shit, even Republicans can do the math on that one.

I don't think anyone's saying we should be killing babies. Stem cell research could open up doors to a lot of medical breakthroughs, while turning a blind eye to the opportunity is just plain dumb. Think about it, let's be a little intelligent about this and at least try to make things better before slamming your Bible down on top of it. I don't want to make this a religious debate (since those are fruitless--you're gonna believe what you want and I'm going to believe what I want. Neither of us can prove shit.), but goddamn, human life isn't so incredibly precious that we can't take something that's already dead and use it to help the living.

I'm not saying you should shut up, I'm saying you should be open to other ideas and not just spew the party line. I'm not a democrat either, but an independent who makes his own decisions on informed fact.

Ilya its the middle class that always gets the shaft stick.....The democrats care about the poor.....The Republicans care about the rich....yet both forget the fact that it is the Middle Class that makes this country go round....That is why im all over Clinton's balls in the previous post....cuz he made things more hospitable and fair for the middle class.....and as far as John Kerry goes.....I thought his speech was terrible....u could tell by listening to him that he doesnt mean any of those things....both our presidential nominees do whats best for their parties....not whats best for our country....Kerry was spouting things that showed he is being controlled by the left wingers.....and in my opinion....his delivery and stage prescence were terrible......that is one thing i'll give Bush credit for....he is a pretty good public speaker.....an ability that is actually tough to master

There are TONS of these. And it's not even like he writes his own speeches, people. You're fools if you think most presidents write their own speeches. There are people that they hire to do it for them--Bush just can't even DELIVER speeches well.

Kerry said specifically that middle class is working people making less than 200k.

Bush's tax cuts amounted to about 670 billion over 10 years, primarily to the rich. maybe you're enough of an economist to know if that would pay for health care, I'm not.
