You left out the part about him being a C student and getting a virtually average score of 1206 on his SAT's (verbal 566; math 640; source The New Yorker). The average SAT is about 1100.

You could take anyone with average intelligence and they would have no problem being accepted and graduated from Yale as long as they come from old money like his family does, and had a long history of nobility as his family has.

The point is, average people are going to make an average amount of mistakes, and give an average quality of performance. There's no good reason to justify settling for mere adequacy from the highest level of office, and I say that from a non-partisan perspective. Neither Democrat nor Republican candidate belongs in office being average minded. I think the public deserves better.

The term American is greatly misused.

So if someone where to point out a problem in Central America, I guess everyone should assume that this is in Nebraska?

American is a term that would also encompass Canadians as well since they share North America.

To use the term Americans is ridiculous when pointing at someone who lives in the States. Call us Yanks, Blue or Red State pedestrians, or whatever that would determine the fact that we are U.S. citizens, but not a generalization of just an American...too broad of a name.

I guess all Asian countries should be lumped into once header as well since we now have the EU...there should be no reason to be French, German...and so on....they should all be called Euro's.

Just my take on it. A bit sarcastic...but if I go by what I am supposed to be...I am just a typical American.

On a different note....there was a post in regards to the Candian & American economies prior to this, within this topic. Pre G.W. Bush and before the NAFTA agreement that was signed (North American Free Trade Act). The Canadian and Mexican economies where on the verge of be ranked as 3rd world economies.

NAFTA was passed by the House, Senate and the Pres. signs it... and look what happens. Every big crap manufacturing company in the States jumps to Canada & Mexico to manufacture there products to avoid taxes and healthcare as well as environmental laws only to then ship them back into the States under the subsidized freight tariffs made possible by NAFTA.

Canadians and Mexicans do not pay these freight subsidies, the taxpayers of the USA pay this. So technically anything shipped into the US from Canada and Mexico is free for them! Under NAFTA that is....and now we will have to deal with CAFTA if things didn't go to crap before this.

If NAFTA was to be repealed, you would see manufacturing on the rise again in the States and the economies of Mexico and Canada go on the decline...perhaps...who knows.

Most of General Motors Cars and Parts are now made in Canada & Mexico. With no union rules and Govt. sanctioned groups like OSCHEA to oversee them, why would one want to stay in the States as a manufacturer with labor costs, payroll taxes, unemployment costs, health benefits, workmans comp. & insurance payments. It makes no sense to keep the once economic strength of the States (Manufacturing) to stay in the States.

Health costs being a prime example...Canada has socialized medecine...everyone has health care. Here in the States, as an employer, it is my company that must pay the employee's health care benefits, as long as they can maintain a 36hr. work week. It use to be 40, then 38, and now it's 36...uhg.

One thing for sure, regardless of who is President of the USA next, the taxes are gonna fly out the roof to cover the spending that the idiot in office has done in the past 6 yrs...or is it still only his 5th yr.?

So when you want to really discuss economics and politics based upon North America. Just remember how much the Canadian dollar would purchase for you here in the States prior to NAFTA, back in the late 80's early 90's. I think it was worth 30cents to 1 US Dollar.

I love my Canadian neighbors. Don't get me wrong, but there is alot of crap left out when you look back at the economics of late. Too much to just sum up in this ridiculous post.
