Lets think about this objectively. Take an unborn child, existing in a state of nonexistance (or not, if you will).
Since this unborn child does not exist, it has no concept of space or time, and thus can not exist in any space and at any time. Still following me? It then follows that, since the unborn child doesn't exist everywhere, there are infinite points in spacetime where it may be conceived, although only a finite number of conceptions. Now, this unborn nonexistant child, having been in nonexistance everywhere everytime, has already been conceived, at which point it ceased to be the unborn nonexistant child and began to exist. It cannot be asked if it wishes to exist because the instant it becomes something capable of answering, even hearing the question, it exists.

In short, you can't ask something that doesn't exist a question and wonder why it doesn't respond. You can't assume it would answer one way or the other because as soon as you do, it no longer becomes something that doesn't exist and becomes something that exists, because only something that exists can answer an existing question.

PS. If you ask something that doesn't exist a nonexistant question it would probably answer, but you won't know what the answer is unless you don't exist.
i understand everything you typed and that was great...

but id prefer that it existed first so i could ask, hey how would you like to be born and live for a while in a dangerous world, then die?

yep, you cant ask. in a case where you knew for certain that a born life would be destined to suffer, its certainly unethical

But wouldn't the mention and explanation of suffering give the child (which we will assume exists... and has already been born and grown to a stage where it can make decisions for itself (ie pubity)) the notion of suffering and the child will then either a) attempt to experience suffering for the sake of the experience or b)attempt to avoid any and all suffering, creating its own mental suffering at the thought of actual suffering. or c) Completely ignore what you were saying about suffering as was too busy thinking about hot chick/guy, and will soon experience emotional suffering due to hot chick/guy anyway?

So either way, if you ask the question you give the notion and they will suffer anyway. Unless you kill them quickly and painlessly immediatly after asking regardless of their answer.

I'm not afraid of dying, I'm only afraid that I will die and not be in faith, but I don't really see that happening.

Edit: Ohh, and yeah I believe in that people who give their lives to Jesus and follows him with all their heart, will come to the Father of all, that is in heaven. But I guess you already knew that I thought so.. ^3^

Fear itself is interesting, I believe that many animals (including humans) fear pain. I believe that only humans have the consciousness to understand death and then to fear it (otherwise those squirrels wouldn’t be running out in front of cars).
So natural selection works in the animal world. Squirrels that are too stupid and/or too slow die and are not as likely to pass their stupid/slow genes to offspring. Humans are ‘by-passing’ natural selection and perpetuating generational misery. Any moron can drop their pants and recreate, it takes little intelligence, skill, compassion, or morality. This will be the eventual downfall of mankind.
Many societies require a person to learn the driving laws and pass a test before they are allowed to drive. What does the same society require of people before becoming parents? Nothing more than being of age. Doh. Why? Is it because many countries view the people as nothing more than a source of taxable income? Why do US tax laws favor popping out kids? Fact is, really stepping up on the soapbox, that taxes ought to be higher for those having kids (since they use more of societies infrastructure like schools).

If you think there's a solution, then you're a part of the problem.

You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car — hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father.

So for like a month I had some crazy fear of death. Every time I went to sleep I wondered if that was what it was like in a coffin, or to be dead. You know, crazy shit.

Anyway, what I'm getting to is, have you ever thought about dying? Are you afraid of death? Do you believe in an afterlife, or reincarnation, or some other phase beyond our lives right now?

I say I wasn't too bright back then but I sill can't really imagine not breathing, not even having a brain to think with, not being able to dream or just be alive. It's still unsettling to me, but it doesn't freak me out as nearly as much as it did then.
If i'm not wrongh there is a part of our childwood when everyone of us fears death... i guess it's somewhere around 5 years but as with all those stuff it can happen sooner or later. With time we understand that there is no way to go around that and we just settle up with the idea that sooner or later zzzzt we are no more!
For me i just don't want to see it coming... may it be fast and with little pain to me and my relatives.
I have no hopes for a better place... i guess it must be like sleeping and never wake up... we cease to exist and i guess that it's not scary at all... it fuels our days to do better and better... because after we die only our deeds will be rembered... the more we do the longer we are remembered but it all ends in oblivion "or a nuke from a china vs u.s. war or something like that ^-^ " as Russel said in gladiator "what we do in life echoes in eternity".

Russell Crowe, you mean Jerkus Maximus?

Fear of death is a learned behavior, but some other types of fear are not. Studies with infants, for example, show most have an innate fear of heights. Not liking pain is innate, but fear of pain is a learned behavior.

I hope that one day tone, you realise that life and the universe is alot more than just the movement of particles and that there's far more to life than what you currently think there is.

Life is just a sexually transmitted disease with a mortality rate of 100%...

However, I'm a part of the school that thinks human thought and everything is just a chain of chemical reactions. There has to be a way to achieve eternal life if it's true.
