Agreed, it is extremely situational and cannot be generalised. As it is completely up to the mother (seeing as she does permanent damage and infertility by the abortion) it is a risky business, but then, pregnancy is risky too.
What I do not like is people dictating whether others should have abortions: whether it be religious leaders saying you shouldn't at all, or boyfriends/fathers saying you should.
I remember a news story about a girl in Auckland I think, her boyfriend had found out she was pregnant and freaked. He and his friends found her in a park and beat her in the stomach to force an abortion. Not only is this sick and unjustified assault, he had no right to abort the child. Sure, if he didn't want the kid he could say so, and not being able to afford child support is a good reason not to want a kid, but not like that. Especially not in that way.
