Well, there may never be a satisfactory solution that everyone can agree upon, but the role of discussion is to share your opinions on matters, while keeping an open mind to the opinions of those arguing the other point. If you keep an open mind, then you are perhaps able to learn something new to formulate your opinion on a subject. So really, a discussion about abortion could help people to see points that they may have not previously come up with, so they can be better informed to make a decision on which side to take a stand for.

if you believe that, then anyone can say burning your penis with a soldering iron is moral, because its their belief. another school of thought is that what is right is what leads to the end result that produces the least suffering and most good, that way its objective and not an opinion

in fact... my gf and i took an abortion last friday.

it sucks and yes you 'kill' a life... in a way. i, we, howeever believe that it's up to the situation. we will carry this for the rest of our lives but it is better than having an unwanted child. i really think that the flamers should understand people more and be more open to other peoples perspective.

there is no right or wrong. it's up to the situation.

I agree with you completely that it should be up to the situation, however you can't use that as an excuse for being irresponsible because its not hard to prevent pregnancy.

I think abortion should be there in case of a rape case, incest case, etc etc, because although it is human life, having the child would cause a lot more problems than aborting it. It doesn't justify the whole "murder" argument, but again, it is up to the situation.

Still there is no 100% reliable contraception... Would be great if someone could find numbers of how many abortions were made thanks to contraception failure and how many just because of plain irresponsibility.
