The Catholic church, like most huge organizations, is run by people. Humans are far from being perfect. Saying the Church is one of the wealthiest organizations in the world is entirely true. It does not however, make much of an argument. Let us call to mind the fact that it has been around for, oh something like 2000 years. There was also a time when the heirless would give their lands/posessions to the church when they died. Sure, the church has not always shown the greatest judgment over the course of its long existence but I don't think any of us could honestly say that we could've run a perfect organization either.
Also, not everyone in the world agrees 100% with all of the Vatican's policies. A lot of the administration dislikes a lot of the American priests because they willingly let non catholics into the church, they believe it is ok to use condoms, etc.
Organized religion has its inherent flaws to be sure, but so does any type of government that has ever been established. In my mind, what it ultimately comes down to is to have faith that there is SOMETHING out there, and to try to live out a good life.USA WORLD CHAMPSComment
