old game newbies.

I honestly don't know what you guys are talking about as far as old classic games, those are mainly terrible.

Blaster Master (nes)
Tecmo Super Bowl (nes)
Ultima: Exodus, the first RPG
Ghosts'n'Goblins
Actraiser anyone?
Bionic Commando.
Could go on forever, but I think that proves whatever needs proven.

Another game I forgot that's an underrated gem. Fatal Racing/Whiplash. Doesn't stand up well against todays racing games in looks but if they remake that it'll be fantastic.

Dungeon Keeper is another game that could do with a revamp to todays standards.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Moonstone, a game that would be worthy of a Live Arcade release if it wasn't so gore centric. (4 player soul calibur with mortal kombat finishing moves? What is there not to love?)

fuck yes! especially the career-mode where you could be player/coach was simply phenomenall!! (only the pes-series comes close to that in coolness (unfortunately pes doesnt even work on my current pc))

Until PES 3 there wasn't a better game than Sensi. And even today no game blends the game/manager aspect as well as it did. Either management side sucks (PES) or game sucks (FIFA ... actually their management side sucks pretty bad too).

The 360 version of Sensi is looking to be fantastic. Online mode, graphics only slightly tweaked from the original. Marvelous.



Live Arcade is really getting better and better. Ikaruga coming up. Speedball 2. Bomberman Live. The Prince of Persia game is a fantastic redesign. Pacman CE is spot on.

Tecmo Super Bowl is fine if you're an American footy fan. The rest of us will stick to Sensi Soccer Plus you had to have an anti Bo rule in that game.
Ghosts'n'Goblins is fun, a classic, but not all time classic.
Actraiser is an interesting beast.
Bionic Commando suffered from poor conversions on other formats.

I was over at a friend's house a couple months ago and he decided to dust off his old nintendo and play a few games. I can't believe how tough Ghosts and Goblins (as well as Gradius) actually were. We must have hard ninja reflexes to pass those games 10-15 years ago. Anyone else think they have really toned down the difficulty in today's action games in order to appeal to mass audiences?

F-Zero GX, Ikaruga, Gradius V, all great games. The latter two are real hard to find.

Meh, I've been trying to find this one "Tank game" but I can't find it. It's old, MS-DOS age or so. You can also play this game co-op. Your mission is simply to kill your enemy or to save hostages from houses you shoot down :P

Are you sure you are not confusing PC games with pub/bar games. You getting tanked every few days is different. And downing a tankard of brew in 20 seconds is also not a PC game. :P
