1) Why is it so hard for me to believe the bible?
Hmm, maybe it was all those miracles that happened. The virgin birth for example; or maybe the resurrection; or maybe all of those David Blaine wanna-be tricks Jesus did over his life.
Perhaps it is the lack of evidence of such events actually occuring in history.
Perhaps it is, as Tone suggests, the notion that these are only the ideas of humans, passed down over generations.
Perhaps it is the dated and now obselete messages in the bible which make it so hard to associate with. Man must not lie with man, women shall obey men - pretty strong shit.
Perhaps it is the total lack of evidence of God existing and the emergence of 'enlightened', scientific schools of thought. E.g. Darwinism.
2) If evolution happend (big bang) why did it create order? Don't explosions create chaos?
Firstly, you've conveniently confused two major theories to try and make something sound more confusing than it actually is. The Big Bang is not interchangable with evolution, they are two different ideas which describe totally different things.
The Big Bang (which has been scientifically proven to have happened through radiation from the BB that is now reaching us) might well have created 'chaos' (as you so accurately put it) had it not been for the laws and forces of this universe (gravity, atomic weight, atomic reactivity) being perfect. The value of gravity, generated in the first milliseconds of this universe's singularity amplification, was perfect in that it allowed expansion of mass (hence the movement of planets away from a common point (see redshift)) but was strong enough to prevent mass from hurtling into space and not reacting or fusing. After the priliminary explosion these newly dispersed atoms then began to react in a much more gradual way to form things like stars and later on planets. Indeed, the way in which the elements we now observe react is also instrumental in how this universe took form. I won't go into detail but I suggest you read 'The Universe in a Nutshell' by Stephen Hawking.
Evolution describes, in biological terms, the phenomena of the existence of life, not the universe. It is a 'logical' way of looking at how life develops, much more than to appoint all of the worlds wonders to one, conscious, all-loving being. Fuck that. You mentioned that there wasn't obvious proof to show every evolutionary transition - indeed you're correct, there isn't proof of every transition, that would be impossible. But when you believe that a cat should become a dog or a monkey a horse, you're doomed before you even look for proof. Evolution is an easy thing to understand, genetical adaptation to suit the environment lived in - this gives the impression of 'design' but it's just natures perfection. Anything less and it wouldn't exist.
Reading a few other posts, Saturn V is correct to suggest that if it was God who created us and the universe, it automatically creates a bigger question of the existence of God. 'Irreducible complexity' as Dawkins put it.
God is not an answer, he's a human fabrication highlighting the ignorance of previous generations who did not have scientific ways of calibrating our surroundings.
3) Where are the billions up trillions of transitional fossils(i.e. The dog/cat or monkey/horse.
I answered this above. But I'll reiterate my point because you're a simpleton. Just because something existed does not necessarily mean that it will become a fossil. Fossilisation only takes place in certain conditions whereby namely oxygen and water cannot access it and it can be preserved. As you can imagine, to believe that there should be some sort of biological timeline preserved in the soil is absurd. The fact that there are some examples of clear evolutionary transitions means it has greater proof of what you, bible bashers suggest.
4) Last but not least if God could create all that we see could he not direct men to write a flawless gospel.
Bit too theological for my liking (which is a bullshit subject for anyone thinking about taking it). It's under the supposition that God exists, in other words it's flawed from the outset.Last edited by MetalHeadz; 11-11-2007, 12:08 PM.

Both Evolution and Creationism take faith. If you believe that we came primordial soup your not wrong and if I believe the we had a devine creator I'm not wrong. You have never seen (Marco) evolution happen nor have I seen "God". I tend believe that we are not a product of random chance and luck but, rather a designed by a creator.....
In my previous post I said meant to say that explosions don't create order they create chaos and disorder.OBama/Biden 08

creationism is a big load of horse shit. If you rly have to belive in something supernatural belive in the fucking hangover fairy who changes all your cash to small coins and hits you in the head so that your head rly rly hurts in the morning and last but not least puts vomit in your stomach. And every day she reminds you of her being there.... where is your god?

Evidence for macro evolution is all around us. Evidence for God is non existent. That's why religion needs faith--belief in something when there is zero evidence simply because you were raised an idiot who can't think for himself.
And in my previous post, if you had read it, I said that the Big Bang was not an explosion. Again, quit reading bibleanswers.com or whatever.Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #98: Every man has his price.

Your 'faith' in creationism is based on dogmatic, illogical, disproven ideas sourced by meglomaniacs who wanted to imprint a set of ideologies on the intellectually weak.

I don't know how you people can be so cynical and narrow-minded. I retract my statements that TW has a good, entertaining community. I make a new observation that TW is full of blind people. Live in the world, not of the world. You'll see the truth some day, whether it be before or after you die - I don't know. I just hope you don't squander your chance on Earth by denying a faith because you're too small and scared to accept that there is a God and that there is a supreme plan for our salvation.

Because I'm spiritual, I think there's a God out there, and hell, there might even be a goal or purpose to our life, but that doesn't stop me from believing that 99% of all Christians are morons.
You make the argument, basically, that any Non-Christian is narrow-minded, small and scared - by mere virtue of their rejection of your faith. I don't take issue with Christianity, to each his own, but I do take issue with bad argumentation.
edit: and bro, I'm not picking on you, either. There are also a plethora of people in this thread who are justifying their anti-religious beliefs with equally shitty logic. I mean, for one, proving Evolution "happened" doesn't disprove the possibility of a god, it just disproves part of a set of widely-held, common beliefs pertaining to a god.Last edited by Jerome Scuggs; 11-11-2007, 07:16 PM.
