Pretty much regardless of the movie itself, Heath Ledger made this a box office hit. I am glad the movie is good, but would it have sucked gigantic balls, it would still have brought in tons of money if not pure because it is Ledgers last movie.

I won't be able to see it until later this weekend, but I did get a chance to see the Batmobile and the Batpod up-close when they stopped by Toronto for a promo. I've attached a pic I took.

I did like how Ledger pretty much pulled off the comic book/cartoon joker pretty damn well, imo absolutely perfect.

One thing that pisses me off from these people is that they all clapped for everything. Even unimportant shit. God that was annoying.

Hell fucking yes. Because of the clapping, I missed an important piece of dialogue. If anyone who watched it already can help me out, I'm trying to find out what Gordon said right after [Spoilers] he took off the SWAT gear and revealed himself as the driver. He said something to Joker while he was standing over the top of him. It's so stupid that the crowd clapped over something like that because it was completely obvious that Gordon was the driver. So fucking stupid. [/Spoilers]

Oh and that Watchmen teaser trailer is the best fucking teaser trailer for a comic book movie in the history of movies. Can't wait.

I wasn't going to see it but now I shall, looks like the movie may be more than the typical pile of shit comic movie.

He was fantastic. I don't know if it was just because it was 3 am, or if everyone was astounded but our theater was silent throughout.

Awesome movie, I'm still quoting the Joker to my friends.

That said, my initial impressions looked a little something like this

heath ledger spent like 6 months in a hotel room cutoff from all communication and human contact to attain this psychotic role.

Of course he studied the comic book joker

Notice the posture: it's not always upright but in a crooked hunched kind of way where it looks like he's looking down on people.

Notice the bipolar behavior where it's amusing and sarcastic, to vicious and dangerous.

Notice that I'm saying notice a lot.

Notice how he has great oratory skills making people change and believe what he has to say.

Also the scene where he cross dresses is also fucking the real joker. crazy mother fucker.

fuck I hate to say it, but my roommate was right. Jack really did butcher it (he only had the smile to be honest).

The eyes alone are worth the price of admission. He's masterful at speaking with his eyes in this role. They jump around but never let up that psychotic sort of confidence he holds. They always show a deeper belief that the Joker knows he's right. His eyes are so sullen, yet so lively. It's weird.

I'd heard that Heath Ledger locked himself up in a hotel room prior to this role, but I thought that had more to do with his pill deal than with him studying to be the joker. If so, it definitely shows.

Great movie...I might go see it again tomorrow.

I also like how he was licking his lips everytime he talked, I think it was the makeup that made him do that, but nonetheless it added something more
