His tone of voice never changes, his face never changes. Maybe I'm missing how hes supposed to be cool and calculating all the time, but if i know anything about acting I would say you're not supposed to respond the same way to every situation. This is all in terms of Bruce Wayne, as Batman....well thats not a hard role to act.

He had two faces the entire movie, the one that he always has and the one where he tried to look surprised and inspired. And when he talked about being inspired by Eckhart he didn't even sound inspired, he sounded like he always did. His tone of voice never changes, his face never changes. He's playing the part of Bruce Wayne, boy billionaire tycoon. If you were enveloped into a lifestyle like that you'd be a prude monotoned prick as well.

I mean, come on, he played the part of a schizophrenic psychopath so well in American Psycho. Can't knock the man for a part that didn't call for the dramatic. Bruce Wayne is a dull character. Batman is just as dull but with a slight edge and fancy entrances/exits. While Ledger played the part of The Joker, a criminal mastermind with a taste for the "dramatic". So yea, I think they both portrayed their characters to the best of their abilities.

P.s. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a crap load better than Katie Holmes, hotter too.

Yeah, John was trying to get to the root of all Batman lovers and she essentially said Batman just makes her wet because he's got muscles and rescued her from falling off a building.
