this was brought up on Fark too and I clarified for everyone. I watched Batman Begins right before the Dark Knight and in that movie Lucius Fox describes the Batsuit to Bale. He tells him there's a microphone which distorts Bruce Wayne's voice, giving him another mask and making Batman all the more menacing. I think it's kind of annoying too, but if I were a criminal and that demonic looking mofo also spoke with a demonic voice, I'd shit my pants twice.

I also thought Maggie Gylenhall was the lowpoint of the movie. I wish they would have used prosthetics or makeup for Two-Face. I think the CGI made him look like the mummy :/

edit: still the best comic book movie evar.

From start to finish I didn't move, my eyes were stuck on the screen. Heath was phenomenal as the joker, I think Jack was a great joker but Heath raised the bar by twenty feet. Maggie Gylenhall wasn't a high point of the movie, but remember that her predecessor was Katie Holmes, for that reason Maggie did a far better job than Katie. Katie can't act, I think Dawson's Creek every time I see that skeleton on screen. I found Batman's voice distracting a few times during the movie but don't get me wrong this movie is fucking epic.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. Heath deserves a fucking medal for that performance, it was like watching someone slowly go insane on screen. I want to see this about twenty more times.

My one criticism, and I'm trying to say it in a way that wouldn't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it:

It should have been his daughter, not his son.

I think Nolan was saving her for the Joker.

But if you're going to use one of his kids, why pick the one that has no significance in the comic book lore? It's not the first time Christopher Nolan has done this either.

If you remember from the first film, there was another little boy character whose role was a bit more significant than just a "random little boy", but from all accounts and interviews with Nolan, that's all he turns out to be.

In doing this twice now, it almost seems like Nolan is deliberately avoiding having two characters that Batman fans would expect appearing.

message me with what you're talking about, I can't figure out who the characters are.

Good news though, the dark knight blew the box office out of the fucking water. Good job Katie, you just worked your way out of being in the number one all time grossing movie in one weekend.

Would've been sweet if he added the young Robin in the movie, the one that got offed by The Joker in the comics. But then you'd have the Nightwing version also. And then the third would come in, which would later become the head of the Teen Titans.

I think Nolan ruled it out for The Dark Knight and possibly the next one or two. The Batman in his movies is much younger, he's just starting out and doesn't meet Robin until he's older.

I think Robin is supposed to be introduced in the second year of Batman's timeline. The three films that Nolan has planned are supposedly based on the Batman: Year One miniseries. Harvey Dent arriving in Gotham and becoming DA is supposed to be about six months into Batman's first year.

Interestingly though, in the Robin: Year One mini, the main villain is Two-Face.

And Robin's not gay. He usually more women than Batman does. Just ask Burt Ward.

I already stated that I thought this movie was awesome, and one of the main reasons I enjoyed it so much was how plausibly realistic they made it seem. What's great about Batman is that you don't have to be from another planet or fall into a nuclear reactor to be him.

That being said, I was pointing out the few points where the realistic feel was lacking, which many agree was part of Harvey's CGI face.
