If I played Weasel more often, I wouldn't do it. All that does is create unnecessary friction in what is supposed to be a relaxed arena. But yeah, a lot of douchebags would.

If you die by a weasel when you have 300 bounty, that just sucks for you, 'm sorry but sometimes "cheap" deaths just happen. Just like it sucks to be spawned, sucks to be TKed, sucks to be repped into mines, sucks to be killed by a roofer, sucks to be killed by a shot from mid base down the tube. You can't do much about all those either, as you don't have much protection against all those situations. Sometimes things just aren't "fair". But Continuum, is a war game, so every conceivable way you can kill an enemy, is fair. So stop bitching.

the difference between everything you just listed and getting cloaked is that you can't reasonably avoid getting cloaked.

if i dont want to be spawned i can be more alert, and pretty much put an end to it. not only that, but you cant get spawned if you have 300 bounty because you dont spawn with 300 bounty.

if i dont want to be tked ill keep a watchful eye on my team's javs and sharks.

if i dont want to be shot from a bullet that came down the tube ill avoid their line of fire and watch my radar.

these things may take skill but good players easily possess that skill.

Actually, you can easily avoid being cloaked. Be a terr, shark, jav or a weasel itself. That's the trade off, you are given safety from unseen death, yet at the cost of not being the god moded warbird. And I say god moded because the warbird is the only ship that can kill all others with a single bullet without using an special abilities (ie burst/cloak) and with a fast recharge.

It's meant to be balanced, all ships have at least one of the other ships to fear, and warbird's greatest threat is the weasel. Kind of funny... the strongest (not counting levi) ship living in fear of the weakest ship...

trench wars is situational. this isnt chaos zone svs, where it is an open free-for-all with few factors involved other than a pilot's skill. the warbird is in danger of every ship.. a jav can kill it around corners and behind walls, the spider can kill it on low energy, the terr can kill it in close places where bursts will bounce, etc. you imply that the weasel is the only thing holding the warbird back from being invincible.

the spider is helpless against the weasel too.

i am saying that switching ships is an unreasonable sacrifice to defend against weasels. if i want to warbird i will warbird. switching ships to fix the problem isnt a show of skill.

Weasels have no purpose in TW besides killing Levi, perhaps give every other ship shields against Weasel and just let it kill Levis

Rock on. But along with all the other stuff you listed, you get to contend with the possibility of a cloaker being about.

I simply do not understand the fuss.
As you said every ship can kill, bullets and bombs everywhere, the weasel has cloaking, with four ships, that is to say HALF of all the ships able to see it cloaked. Cloaking is the one greatest strength it has. A warbird has a level three bullet and fast recharge and great maneuverability. Do you see four ships with reps? No, you see two. And by the way, guys in charge, giving reps back while keeping team greens to the single most annoying ship in the game, smoooooth, like broken glass.

Four ships can not just dodge but can completely undo arguably the greatest advantage of the weasel (along with small size), with the push of a button. Not only can they undo it, but -completely- undo it.

How about an ability for four ships that makes a shark's mines malfunction, a warbird move 1/4 as fast, a Lanc lose multifire, a spider use all energy with one shot, etc etc etc.

To anyone that wants to get rid of a weasel's cloak:
Sure, but give it free antiwarp, maybe a couple decoys, or a brick... or I know, how about just a Thor?

Why people want to complain about ship six, instead of the laughable insult that happens to be ship 4, eludes me. Pure pubs are stacked full, all the time. Maybe while you're changing settings staff people you ought to take a look at that and remedy in settings what you have a bot doing. That is to say, stop using a band aid as a fix for surgery.

And by the way, before anyone even says it:
I don't -care- if people want to LT. They shouldn't get their kicks by fucking with every body else. Removed, people would bitch, but keep it gone long enough and the "new bullshit" becomes just the standard way of how things are. If some teenagers are unhappy during the transition, who cares, teenagers are fucking always unhappy about something or other.

The lev could be changed to be a viable ship that serves as a force of "heavy artillery" without it being insanely annoying, useless, and deadly to even the people that happen to be on the same side.

As I've said before, I hate weasels, I think they should be made larger again so I don't have to worry about them when I'm trying to dodge everything the other team is throwing at me (in terr) on top of a weasel or two suiciding constantly trying to take me down. BUT, that is a part of TW, part of the PUB, and you shouldn't be worrying about 300 bty if your basing anyway, bounty doesn't matter, keeping the flag does. If everyone gets to remove every ship they think is lame we will be left in spectator mode watching the flag begging to be taken.

You see, that's why you get placed on teams instead of your own privy freq. TW is designed to be a TEAM based basing zone. You're a warbird, but you want someone with x radar to find cloakers? You don't have to switch, just ask for a jav or a terr on your freq. Your arguments are working on the premise that it's just you out there against the cloakers, but the settings aren't based on one on one play. It's based on team play.

And by "lame" you mean you want a cop out of having something to be aware/afraid of in the game. Just suck it up and deal with it. Because you say it's not fair that they can kill you without you knowing they are there, well it's not fair to the weasel players to take them out of pure pub, because not all weasels are about just hunting levis.
