jeez! if a weasel killed you, then good for him and bad for you. get back in there and kill him! this is ridiculous. Virgin made this game with more than 1 ship because not everyone wants to be one ship. the more ships there are, the more diverse the game will be. do you really want it to be like TWD in ?go base?

It's supposed to be a basing pub, so there should be no weasels allowed. Maybe even put an "out of bounds" line like in twjd so that if you stay out in the spawning area you get specced.

the out of bounds area should be everywhere thats in the circle of asteroids. weasels piss everyone off. and for some reason, someones made them harder to kill.

It's easy to dismiss the unhappy crowd as whiners, newbs, etc etc. But why was the weasel changed in the first place? Considering the abilities of all the ships, TW was as close to balanced gameplay as it was going to get. I can sort of understand making the weasel smaller, but letting it recharge while cloaked was too much IMO.

I agree with you on this point. The Weasel is part of the game, but unfortunately it has some downsides to the pub arena.

Often in pub I see too many times a freq using weasels to regain the flag. This is ok, except when the opposing freq. has 4 - 6 weasels. So in retaliation, the other freq goes to a similar amount of Terriers & javs.

I have seen pub go to a large amount of just Ter's and Jav's just to avoid getting killed by the weasel...and IMHO this has taken the pure pub feel out of pure pub.

The weasel will not be eliminated, but the balance of ships has definately changed as to what once was a game of which freq had control of the FR. It seems that the flag is not even the source of why people play in pub anymore, but rather to either be a weasel and kill unsuspecting players (which is ok) or to be the one w/X-Radar going after the Weasel. If this is what the point of Pub is, than I am at a loss as for why people would not want to solely play in ?base and not pub anymore.

There will always be the roofers, and the spawnkillers below, ,but a game of weasel vs. Terr/Jav seems to be an ongoing source of dismay in pub.

Instead of changing the weasel, perhaps we can eliminate the WB & Spiders, this way the complaining would stop as to who can see and not see the Weasel? & give the sharks full time X-Radar

Pub has just become a free for all mess of just plain ol' killing and not who controls the FR anymore...not at all times, but it has been like this quite often.

Weasel's strength is to be able to take out ships without being detected. Their weakness is that they are the WEAKEST SHIP IN THE GAME.

they arent the weakest ship in the game. ive always been fine with older settings of the weasel... they kept changing and every change i questioned why but i found it didnt alter the enjoyment of pubbing for me as the way they changed the weasel didnt change the way alot of the players played and if i was annoyed with a weasel it would be easy to change to a ship that had advantages over it and be able to kill them and win i.e. terr.

theres been no ship in the past thats annoyed me so much that i didnt want to play in publics untill now! weasels piss me off! id be a ship without x radar and there would be several weasels in base. terrs even struggle to kill them because the weasel is quite equal in strength. in the past it would be bearable. i would be killed once in a while by a weasel but it wouldnt be annoying because id know the random pub goers that happened to be on my team at that time would take them out moments later. pub goers have always generally realised that the aim of the game is to work together and the terr usually knows that their role is to watch for x's but theres so many annoying x's and the ships clearly arent balanced.

i remember when the levis were given 3 rockets at spawn and pubs turned into a levi race to flag room. i didnt complain because it was pretty fun but they soon changed it. this is the same situation but i dont enjoy it because ive never enjoyed being a weasel.

In terms of how much energy they have, which energy is basically your life bar, weasels have the least, therefore making them the weakest. Also, to get gaurenteed kills, weasels have to get close, and usually unless they can get away fast enough, their one kill also results in their death. I watched it yesterday in a pub, and I found it beyond stupid... there was a terr, a spider and a warbird in the base for freq 1, and a warbird and a cloaked weasel for freq 2... the weasel missed its shot and all three players for freq 1 went after the weasel, completely ignoring the warbird.

The destructive capability of a Weasel compared to the energy it has is very high. They went after the Weasel because attacking the Warbird would have left the Weasel time to recharge and wipe them out. Granted the WB could have done that too, but you can fight back against a WB. You can't against a cloaked Weasel. They had a chance to hunt it, so they did before it got away. Calling them weak only makes you look stupid, because in capable hands they can do real damage.

You're forgetting that the "Pure" in "PURE PUB" refers to "Pure basing". If your problem with weasels is that they are being used to base, then too bad; they're just being "pure". Is that a good enough argument for you?
