Every user name that is created on Subspace has a unique userid. You can find out your userid by typing ?userid. Userid's are created in chronological order. There are allready arena's that limit players by usage, so why not limit players by userid? For example, The name Offline's userid is 64124 - and was created in 12-18-1998 1:26:16. Now this other name, Pizza Delivery was created in 1-27-2000 4:9:48, and has a userid of 558082.

Bad idea =p My userid's are up in the millions since I don't use any of the names I used to, and I'm guessing a lot of other players would run into the same problem.

Personally, I don't think TW is at an all time low of suck. The player base is bound to change, as it has been ever since TW was created. Over time you're going to get an entirely different population, and a few addicted veterans who just can't escape the clutches of TW. If the players didn't change, we wouldn't have a zone.

Anyway, you arent alone with this problem. Propably 90% of the zones has problems with new players, or not new players but "noobs".

But Ill repeate those few statements which have been said already. When you started playing somewhere in 90s there wasnt so much older player, everyone was in the same line. So now when there actually newer players that might effect somehow...to something. And not all new players are stupid/annoying, but too bad, mostly are. And us who doesnt use words "ez,n00b,stfu newbie" etc cant really do anything for those who use.

Things change and we cant help it, just need to adjust ourselves for changes.

Just a few minutes ago, I was sharking as usual, and I had my mines all laid out like I like them, and defence was solid and everything. Another shark comes in and starts mining a straight line along one wall of the flag tunnel, with all four mines. He starts telling me, no SHOUTING because he was using all caps, to change ships because his plan was better. I asked him what it was and he planned to let ships come into the tunnel so he could rep them into his mines. I told him it was flawed because 1 rep will ruin his plan, but he persisted (still in caps). Meanwhile, I still played as usual and the other team was still stymied. After a few minutes of his badgering, I said "fine" and changed ships. We lost the flag 10 seconds later.

If you're still playing subspace regularly (3+ hours a week or so I guess) after 3 years of playing (which seems to be about the avg of people who are complaining in this thread), then I have no sympathy for your disenchantment with the game. There are so much better things for you to be putting effort in to than resurrecting some imagined idealistic video game environment. Like Nockm said, to have expectations for a video game is setting yourself up for failure. If you're having fun, play. If you're not having fun, esc q. If you really want to force the game to be fun, then you're basically saying you have no alternative ways to have fun. That in itself is a travesty.

I'm not going to call people who are complaining nerds or question their methods of entertainment. All I want to point out is that if you're unhappy with the game, then perhaps you should take a look at what made you like it in the first place. Was it the fast paced action? There are plenty of games that offer this. Was it the social interaction? There are plenty of games that offer this too. And hey, you might even want to try this out with -real people-.

Just my opinion though.
