would it be ok for ppl to taunt Germans over the war or indeed myself over being irish?

Its like genocidal says its about the hate associated with it which is a hard thing to determine. But in my own case there is hundreds of years of history and some stupid resentment still lives on in a lot of english and irish and also plainly catholic/protestant..

So despite being the same race i.e. caucasian surely TW racism laws should encapsulate that kind off hatred and intimidation, that is what they are there for, no?

Personally i'm all for racism laws in this game, as ppl constantly referring to ppl in a derogatory manner as ****** etc would put me off playing if i was an ethnic minority, its also stupid and no need for it at all.


I know little about North American history or affairs, but i do know that USA is a lot bigger in population than Canada, and from what i've seen first hand there seems to be some resentment their too. I don't think its ok or fair to have USA bullying a smaller population of Canada in game and a blind eye is turned due to them not being prodominantly jewish or black etc ...

In this example i do think appropriate action would been for a mod to pm the person who was complained about and asked him if it was true, give him a verbal warning at least and been a bit more respectful to the complaint.

there is a fine line between racism and trash talk. if you got offended by that line, boy, i don't know how you'd live to the age of 30.

THIS IS EXACTLY what i mean. i agree with pressure drop. the fact remains that this was not a trash talk. this was a blatant disregard for canadains. and im not saying for JUST canada. this is all countries. You seem to have taken it that im defending canada. im defending all countries here.

Using race. religion or nationalism in a derogatory fashion should be dealt with as a racist remark. I may be over-sensitive but after last nights fiasco this needs to be said. I was in ?go javs and we were having a big disagreement about politics and all of a sudden i get a pm from this newb saying that "all canadians are hockey playing fuckups and they should all be shot to do the world a favor"

i had been talking to adamant <ZH> asking about getting an event hosted. and asked him if saying such a thing would be considered racism. he checked and it was not. I am shocked and appalled at this. The TW community is a very diverse crowd and I am proud to be part of it for so long. But this is ridiculous.

So yes, We as canadians are considered a race(for i am sure that people will argue this point so i put the definitions in to stop the arguement BEFORE it starts), and frankly I would like the staff to ensure that everyone gets fair treatment. I know they do their best, and all this post is supposed to be is a way to ensure that TW works better and protects the players from unacceptable harrasment.
